Yall remember Soaps? The shoes you could grind with
Even back when they were being advertised I thought they were pretty silly. Heelys could be used almost anywhere, but the grinds were like so situation specific.
I had the Soap shoes. Never grinded anything with rollerblades, barely able to use a skateboard, but thought the shoes would be the trick. Took them out for their maiden voyage to the auto show.
I saw my opportunity to grind on a nice set of shiny steps that went up to a fancy car. The second I hit the “grind” they stick and I go flying to the floor. I’ve never made so many people stop what they were doing.
The look on all these people faces were nothing short of “what is wrong with you?”
Side note I have a pair of adult size Heelys, they’re a bit impractical to use as actual shoes cuz you need a tool to remove the wheels, if I remember correctly the kid’s sizes the wheel mechanism popped in and out of the sole.

Bouncers will boot you from clubs for heelying. They are cool as shit to dance in if you can get away with it though.
I still have a pair, in the summer I'm wearing them out again!
Yeah I loved 'em. Had them along with young kids - heelying along with a stroller was hard (and tricky?).
I'm mid40s and can see a new family activity with this!
