I'm not upset that this is all happening.... I'm upset that it's happening with no resistance at all.
There is hardly no resistance, it just gets less press. Just in the courts alone:
Lawsuits against DOGE were filed exactly 1 minute into his admin
Federal workers and thier unions are suing his Schedule F plans
ACLU is suing his attempts to unconstitutionally remove birthright citizenship. (And more than 22 state attorny generals + DC + the city of sanfransico filed seperate lawsuit about it too plus other non profits and organizations)
Many of his executive order have been typo full and generally poorly written. Don't assume they'll all survive court challenge. Even if SCOTUS is insane, they don't always back trump's plans
There is also resistance from Governors to his plans
For instance, Governor Pritzker said he wouldn't follow any of Trump's unconstitutional orders against Birthright citizenship. They state previously did similar and passed protections in 2017 & 2021 & put limits on any local involvement with federal authorities to slow it all down
And so on
Maybe so, but the last time this happened, it took both World Wars and the Great Depression to pull us out of the Gilded Age.
It's gonna get reeeeeeeeal fuckin' dicey over the next 30 years or so.
Yeah but that entirely depends on the rest of the country supporting us, which isn't the case. Everyone else seems to want xenophobia.
Support isn't binary, and it's something you can build and increase
Fights like this aren't fully won or lost on short term time scales
