Banned from most (all?) of .ml for checks notes a post on my home instance

For "Troll" even though I've been boycotting .ml for a while and haven't made a single post or comment anywhere on .ml lmao

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with YDI/PTB. You just got what you wanted without degrading the user experience of entire .world and .ml user bases.
That mod is the kind of person who would go through your history and downvote every single comment you ever made just because you didn't agree with them once. Also the sort of person who's going to make getting banned from .ml something to be proud of.

Also, a year long ban? Seriously??? The only situation that I can see a mod/admin doing it is when they want to permaban a user, but still say "ackshyually le user wasn't permabanned lol. we banned them for a limited time lmao."

- I can see a (good faith) admin as wanting to do a 1 year ban instead of permanent in hopes that in a year a person will reflect on their actions and have a different outlook when it expires. Though yeah in this case it's probably just to make people not go as far as they could in calling it out, so they can say "it's not that bad, it's a temporary ban".

Absolutely PTB, it's one thing to silence a user for personal beliefs that go against the admins in the communities on that server (which is also PTB in and of itself) but it's a whole other level to do it to someone for actions outside of those communities or the instance.

This type of thing is unfortunately common on lemmy.ml, I'm kind of surprised there aren't more posts here calling them out on it.
