  • As a side note, Antoninus Pius was deeply 'traditionalist/conservative' in a Roman sense - meaning he preserved out-of-fashion republican norms from the days of the Roman Republic, did not push new cults, gods, or rites (unlike some prior Emperors), and relied on the Senate as a partner in rulership rather than cultivating an extensive imperial court.

  • "Be completely heterosexual" is a bit of a misleading description regarding ancient Roman & Mediterranean sex life, "live completely heterosexually" would be a better phrasing

    • "Antoninus Pius is one of only a handful of Emperors during the Principate that does not have any recorded or rumored same-sex liasons or expressions of same-sex interest", if you prefer.
