Look, I really hope this is either satire or sarcasm. I've tried my damnedest to post decent stuff to this instance. It's all been virtually ignored. I've put in actual effort to try to roll out content here. However, since apparently if it isn't strictly *nix related or spammed animal pic it will get buried, ignored and/or downvoted into oblivion. I really believe in the mission of SDF, which is why I'm here - as an effort to promote it in every way I can. Maybe, just maybe, that includes posting to lemmy.world with the highest quality stuff I can produce (admittedly it isn't fantastic).
Not everyone is willing or knowledgeable enough to SSH into SDF via Termux just to visit something that may be confusing. If the goal is to teach people that Unix can be learned without a lot of prior knowledge (via just trying stuff), there is absolutely no reason to attempt to eliminate awareness via posting to another instance. It's like saying you want someone to join your UseNet group without providing any context.
Neat. The data doesn't go back very far yet, though.
Two immediate observations: Hexbear is surprisingly huge in terms of activity, and lemm.ee had a crazy spike happen at 14:00 UTC on Tuesday (probably spam or similar).
Edit: Oh, no, actually that's it catching up after going offline for a while.
Hey again. Do you know who maintains this? It seems to only display around a month of data, but I'd like to use it to monitor the growth of Lemmy. I'm wondering if there's a way to add more capacity to go back in time, perhaps with some modest funding.
