VW will invest up to $5B into Rivian to form joint venture for next-gen EVs

The move helps to fix issues for both companies - Rivian's need for cash and VW's need for help fixing its software problems.

Oh this is great news.

Rivian has solid innovative design and experience under their belt and now VW can supply capital.

Do it rivian, show them what you got.
make them smaller and cheaper and no spying or bloat 'features' and success is guaranteed
- They're never gonna make my dream EV: a fully dumb or FOSS-based Miata sized car with high repairability, made only with ethically sourced components and labour and still fun to drive.
  
  At this point I'm so happy being car free that's what it's going to take to get me back behind the wheel. Driving is stupid, I don't miss it.
It's a $5b dilution at $10.80 I think if they run out of cash haha
