Newly minted Oscar winner Wes Anderson has now wrapped production on his next feature, The Phoenician Scheme, in Germany. We've known the story of a family and a family business, specifically capturing a father-daughter relationship in a dark espionage tale, has a cast that features Benicio del Toro...
I feel like you watch two Wes Anderson movies and you basically get it, and that's enough. I've never wanted to go back and re-watch one to enjoy the storyline again.
It's a nice aesthetic though, and I'm sure other people love them.
And I've rewatched most of them several times. Anyone gets his style quickly, but it's so nice that I can't get enough of it. I didn't really like Asteroid City though, IMO he went so extreme with the style that it ended up taking away from everything else. But I'll happily re-watch any of his other movies anytime and anywhere.
His latest movies have been boring and bad, in my very personal opinion. I loved Mr Fox, Budapest Hotel, those earlier ones. The Pineapple Express or whatever it was called.
These last two or three ones, no. Boring, dialogue is too fast and rambling through, and the plot is just so thin and dull to me.
I'm not sure what has caused this slip, but it's happened.
I hope for everyone else's sake they I'm the only one with this issue, because I'd love to love each of them. They are truly unique in their style.
