Ah! The idyllic past!
  • I really thought COVID would be a bit more successful in this regard, give us a bit more room on the streets, shake loose some of that boomer wealth.

Gosh dang the black plague generation has it easy in comparison.

  • A far-right publication just got tricked into publishing Communist Manifesto excerpts
  • You know if James Lindsey tried this shotgun method with mainstream publications too he might just find holes in publishing are just everywhere? It's more of a statiatical norm.

Does he think people vetting articles just love their jobs and do them enthusiastically and well? No, sometimes they just wanna go home early so push things through.

When is this dumb ass gonna learn this basic fact of humanity.

  • [R] Capitalism eventually leads to Monopoly
  • One could argue the same happens in "Socialist Oriented Market Economies" (eg. China/Vietnam) it's just a matter of how much the one party system allows it to continue in that direction. So whose whims is it better to be under? And is there a way out?

    Idk.

  • I'm having second thoughts about quitting my current position, I'm scared and I don't understand myself. What's happening to me?
  • Yep, it should always be a surprise attack. Your employer is NEVER your friend. You will always have competing interests.

Their aim is to exploit you, your aim is to be well paid for doing very little (eg. The fabled "cushy job" scenario).

There's no room for a friendship, it's adversarial. You're cordial to get along until there's a viable move to make.

  • Turns out things won't go well for the albatross (it will get shot). The saying, "to wear an albatross around one's neck" is an indication of having been cursed. It comes from a 227 year old poem. From Wikipedia:

In the poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, an albatross follows a ship setting out to sea, which is considered a sign of good luck. However, the titular mariner shoots the albatross with a crossbow, an act that will curse the ship and cause it to suffer terrible mishaps. Unable to speak due to lack of water, the ship's crew let the mariner know through their glances that they blame him for their plight and they tie the bird around his neck as a sign of his guilt. From this arose the image of an albatross around the neck as metaphor for a burden that is difficult to escape.

  • America’s economy ‘risks massive Trump slump’
  • Eh, not quite, it will probably be more of a boom, then a thud... Then a very long hissss.

The Boom is the initial corporate spending as all regulations enforcement are dropped. The thud is the lack of workers, the opposing judges, and the state of fear over Trump's seemingly random and damaging behaviour.

The hisss will be long term economic and social damage, and the whispers of more revolutionary actions needing to be taken.

With any luck, party, political, judicial, and industries/civil/military powers will be enough to force a clean election in four years, but we'll have to see about that.

  • Is my blue your blue?

Only God's BLUE TRUTH must prevail! TURQUOISE IS BLUE!!! ALWAYS WAS BLUE!!! AND FOREVER SHALL BE BLUE!!!

Your words sound like that of a wrong-believer! Of a green! Confess the greeness of your sins or face a holy bluing you may not survive!
