Thanks, for the motivation. But I ment it like I don't have time because of school. I have exams due in a week and I have to study 10+ topics in grammar, literature and history. For a week I'm like a zombie.
Wake up at noon, hate life, study bullshit, hate life w/ a numb brain, play some games caz I can't anymore, it's 4am so let's sleep.
I'd like a job for the summer, and I should be working on contacts, or something I can show to my employer, not on literature.
Just don't go doing something super boneheaded like trying to hard-code swear word filters or- oh wait the devs already did that (or tried to, anyway) and told users they were racist for not wanting an arbitrary filter because daddy knows best.
You were the chosen one! You were supposed to save lemmy, not destroy it!!!!
nah, you at least admit your mistake, that is how we learn the right way. happens a lot in open source code. don't be hard on yourself, just review the fixes and make sure you understand what went wrong. :)
you're making useful contributions, that's more than a lot of teens (and most adults) are doing these days.
Don't sweat it man. I've seen null pointer dereferencing cause drones to fall out of the sky so this is not that bad. One time I did a code change that disabled an e-stop feature that stopped the propellers from spinning. Thankfully no fingers were lost because of that! The code was reviewed and passed the software simulation tests at the time. It just got missed.
That's actually good. You've probably got more free time to work on lemmy than most adults. Impressive that you apparently got the skills too, so congratz! Also for choosing to learn rust! :)
