Magic of course.
Both are very trustworthy.
What kind? Personally I wouldn't trust any kind with raisin.
I think they do that in castles steps as well. To slow down invading.
Sad.. now he lost his dad and sword.
Was the sword his dad's?
I think it is more about the power required to run the lock motor.
I have several z-wave door locks as well. They all need battery replacement within a few months. Unless I don't open/close them very often. They can go much longer.
But it really isn't to big of a deal. Home Assistant tells me when they are getting low and I just swap the batteries in a few minutes.
I have the same lock. I didn't want it but it was the only lock I could find that would work on my sliding door. The key is to buy rechargeable batteries. Mine last maybe a month before they need to be replaced.
This has been with transaction using the chip reader. I have two cards and both have had issues. I did change the way I am storing my cards by attaching them to the back of my phone case. I am wondering if some how that is causing issue. Maybe I should turn off my phone's NFC reader for a little bit. See if somehow that is causing problems.
It always fails on reading the chip. Never had an issue with tap to pay, I prefer tap to pay but not all vendors support tap to pay.
Has anyone had issues with cards not processing the first time? It seems to happen to me very often. I have been wondering if my card is broken or dieing.
What about self defense?
What did they do before 1891?
Public services require a little more work, you will need to rely on a service from a company, either a tunnel (e.g. Tailscale funnel) or a VPS.
I have been hosting random public services for years publicly and it hasn't been an issue.
Edit, I might have miss understood the definition of public. I have hosted stuff publicly, however everything was protected by a login screen. So it wasn't something a random person could make use of.
We are just stuck in our ways over here. We just got tap payments a few years ago. Even then some vendors still don't support tap to pay lol.
I always wondered why the US seems to be a hold out for adopting new technology. It might just because out government is extra slow at getting anything accomplished.
For SMS I wondered if it has something do with communicating between countries. In your experience was their extra charges involved with sending a SMS to someone in another country. (Back in the day when SMS was popular)
Here in the US we can SMS to anyone within the US for no extra charge. And we mostly talk amongst ourselves over here. So cost wise it isn't an issues. If I was talking to people outside the US there is no way I would use SMS.
After my 5 seconds of research, it seems like those SHAFT rules are more for marketing campaigns when your sending out sms messages on mass. Not for Bob and Susan talking about the latest politics. Not sure why OP is getting limited. I can swear over my Google Voice message and I don't have any issues. I am pretty sure that is SMS over VIOP.
Hold on here is this really true?
I think if texts are failing to send because of swearing this would be headline news as it would affect so many people.
Rules for thee but not for me.
Took me a second, but I got it. Lol
I have upgraded my GPU on my desktop without upgrading anything else. Leaving me with a spare GPU and no other hardware.
Self hosting, I have also pulled GPUs out of systems to keep the power requirements down. As most of the time onboard GPUs are just fine for Self hosting applications. Also leaving me with a spare GPU.
However over the years GPUs have because more popular for processing there are more arguments to keep the GPU in a home server. So I can see how this is going away.
Moment of silence for the cats in the US time change zone.
I have an automatic feeder for my kitties. It is based on time, my cats are not impressed by the extra hour they needed to wait.
Dual Actuator Drives

This is really cool, I have never heard of dual actuator drives before.
ZFS migrate data TrueNAS
I just ordered 6 16TB drives to upgrade my 8 4TB drives.
My server doesn't have any more room for expansion.
My Question is what is the best way to replace the 8 4TB drive with the new 6 16TB drives?
I was thinking of setting up a secondary server put the 6 16TB drives in that and copy the data over. Then just remove the 8 4TB pool and swap the drives around then add the 6 6TB pool.
However I am guessing this method might screw up my shares and settings I have on the existing pool.
Any ideas? Thanks
[Question] Proxmox Cluster and Quorum
How do you handle Proxmox clusters when you only have 1 or 2 servers?
I technically have 3 servers but I keep one offline because I don't need it 24/7 most point wasting power on a server I don't need.
I believe I read somewhere that you can force Proxmox it to a lower number but it isn't recommended. Has anyone done this and if so have you run into any issues with this?
My main issue is I want my VM to start no matter what. For example I had a power outage. When the servers came back online instead of starting they waited for the quorum number to reach 3. (it will never reach 3 because the third server wasn't turn on.) so they just waited forever until I got home and ran
