Could it have been more of a slap on the wrist than $16 million? Bullshit. Give the FTC some teeth. Let them fine companies into non-existence.

Fine them every penny of the sale price multiplied by a few. Until it costs companies more than they make off the deal to do this, they won’t stop.

Per much any and all anti-virus/privacy software made by a for-profit company is bloatware at best and malicious at worst. Just use the built in Windows Defender if you’re still using Windows or nothing if you’re on Mac or Linux.
