This is a loaded question that fundamentally misundertands that gun control is a national issue, not a local or state one. Because we have lax borders between states, the strongest gun control law can only ever be as strong as the weakest gun control law nationally.
That, and there's the fact that even the existing laws that aren't effected by such an issue are toothless thanks to originalism.

When I was 11 or 12 my dad gave me a Remington 22 rimfire and that thing was so poorly assembled, nobody told me that's not how a rifle is supposed to be. It's probably still in a closet in my mom's house.
