The next few days are going to be wild. Brace yourselves
Tomorrow, reddit will be shutting off 3rd party app access. If the twitter migration is anything to go by, that means that the wave of new users coming in the next few weeks will be much bigger than the wave we saw earlier this month.
Our lead techy admin @[email protected] is also recovering from broken bones and surgery, so she will be slower to respond to issues :)
All of that being said, we're as prepared as we can be. We're currently running our instance on hardware with excess capacity to spare, but who knows if it will be enough.
So, good luck to all of us, and see you on the other side :)
BaconReader went down too and I finally decided to make an account here. Interested to see how this goes but I know I won't be using the official reddit app
RIF has stopped working for me in the last hour, time to finally ditch the Reddit grip and jump ship, honestly not a massive difference in community now, and hopefully some of the smaller niche subs will move over to Lemmy, enjoying my experience so far!
Apollo is (well, was) one of my favorite apps. Just because of how well-designed and thought out it was, especially with the iOS design language. Sad to see it go, but at least I’ve got wefwef.
Memmy and Mlem are both native 3PAs based on Apollo. They both have test flight betas, but they’re also both full currently. Memmy has been submitted for app store approval though and should be available soon.
