But even in the Far East it is known that the AfD and BSW will only indirectly influence Germany's future international positions. The SPD is seen as open to stronger economic relations, while the CDU and especially the Greens are seen as hostile. Interestingly, the Chinese party press describes the Greens as "ultra-right".
The departure from nuclear energy was driven by the coalition of CDU and SPD back when Fukushima happened, and now the CDU is trying to blame the greens for it. Sadly, its successful bexauye people are stupid and have the memory of goldfish.
Aside from that, the transition away from nuclear was the right move. We didn't even end up using more coal because of that. Prices should also have gone down but I only know the statistics of the last few years where prices went down mainly because of more renewables. At the end of the day, prices could be a lot lower tho if energy companies weren't privatized but The Left (like, the Partei called "Die Linke") is the only party that wouldn't be against that. The Greens are still prioritizing profits for the ruling class above all.
You are misremembering. Germany extended a coal mine to maintain its current coal usage. Germany's coal usage has be declining for decades and declined in 2024 as well.
Germany won't (and probably shouldn't) give up on coal completely as it is the only kind of fuel that they have direct access to (besides renewal ones) and being able to generate a lot of energy on demand, can be important in war settings. So Germany has a military interest to maintain some coal mines and power plants. It sucks but someone somewhere is always starting wars.
The American green party is outright electoral onanism. They seek few offices below the presidency and govern essentially nothing. Sure they talk about being pro this or anti that, but it's purely hypothetical. We can't know how they would govern until they have done any.
The American green party is outright electoral onanism.
jesus fucking christ, if you want people to understand you, use more commonly used words. No one is impressed that you know what onanism is, just say "masturbation" or "jerking off" or "self gratification" or something jesus.
They have more lower office holders than all other third parties. But go off on your 1980s era propaganda. It sure worked for you guys this past election... And in 2016....
They have existed for 40 years and never held federal office nor ever won state level office as a green and remained green . The 8 state level folks that have ever served in 40 years consist of hilarious shit like winning as a green and then switching parties and winning as a dem switching to green and losing.
It is literally 40 years of continuous failure with absolutely nothing to show for it.
It's better than any other third party. And given you're voting for the corporate destruction of the planet if you vote dem or repub, they're the choice to go with if you're not yet ready for PSL.
Sorry, no one with a conscious can vote either dem or repub. That leaves third party voting for those that still want to waste an hour one every couple of years.
It's nothing. Absolutely nothing. Worth nothing. Accomplished nothing. It's like its a wonderful life but as if George Bailey walked around town and found out that everything was as good or better without him.
Voting Dem gave us clinton obama and biden 20 years where we didn't have amazing progress but did make small movement in the right direction and avoided 20 years of abject stupidity. We are far healthier and more prosperous than if we spent 40 years pissing away our votes on nothing.
The movement in the right direction was the single greatest increase in wealth inequality in history, resulting in today where wealth inequality is at its highest point in the last 3000 years?
We are healthier and wealthier than if we had 40 years of Republicans. Much of the negative moves you are bitching about are under Reagan, Bush sr, Bush jr, and Trump.
Are you implying the alternative is the absolutely nothing candidate of Kamala or even Biden? Democrats guilt tripping over not voting for the one of the one parties is insane.
Did you see me guilt trip anyone? I'm just mocking your unbelievably self-unaware rant attacking people who did vote for a candidate that had a chance. I don't do guilt trips, but stupid is as stupid does.
Just read the whole thread again. No guilt trips, or anything that could be interpreted as guilt trips. Nothing even close really. Persecution complex much?
I see a few city councillors and a smaller number of townie mayors. One of the three mayors runs a place with a population of sixty. I've voted for greens and will again, but what I'm seeing doesn't match the bravado on display.
