“Apple Music launches a Discovery Station to help you find new songs”
  • I tried it today and liked it so far, only one skip. For the most part it was "adjacent" to things I've listened to, and brought in a couple of new offerings. I have been really into the "My Station" stuff since it basically plays me an array of the things I already love, but the "Discovery" mode is interesting and I'll probably use it here and there to add likes to the algorithm for better suggestions.

  • Paul Reubens, Pee-wee Herman Actor, Dies at 70 After Private Bout of Cancer
  • Fucking brain cancer. That hurts. Got to speak with him on a Zoom Cameo call in late 2021 and it was just a wonderful experience. Such a cool human being. Lost my mom to brain cancer in 2000. Always stings a little more when you hear about another having gone through it.

  • Elon Musk wanting to remove dim theme from twitter
  • Nope. Quit the bird site when he went full asshat. Barely used the bird site before but it was helpful for breaking news in the olden days. Other than potential A11Y legal action if it fails for contrast issues, I don't think anyone should care about this stupid site now. The tech community has moved on.

  • I installed the JSAUX transparent case on my Deck today!
  • That looks SO good, I'm just not hardware technical enough to pull it off, especially with the complicated screen stuff. Looks GORGEOUS though. I wish I could pay someone to do an Atomic Purple for me. :)

  • Twitter now blocking all DMs from non-Twitter Blue subscribers by default
  • So basically any companies that were using that as a customer support channel — I’m thinking of like, American Airlines, etc… will now no longer be able to help customers via DM? Are DM’s only subscriber to subscriber now?

I’ve never seen someone ham-fistedly destroy a company faster than this fucking guy.

  • Dealing with summer crowds?
  • The past few times I've gone during the summer, I tend to go on a Saturday lately -- since there are blackout dates, Saturdays seem less crowded than Mon-Wed in the summers the past few years. LOTS of water -- I carry a bottle with me and refill at water fountains and drink it down in lines. Shady spots - Tom Sawyer's Island (or whatever they call it now), the area back behind the Winnie the Pooh ride can be nice and quiet, also the area underneath Hungry Bear has shade and chairs for a quick break.

Tiki Room's great for an air conditioned break, so are the cartoons on Main Street. Riding the train for a full loop is nice as well, just to relax and enjoy people watching. Have a great trip! :)

  • Recommended game for SteamDeck
  • I’ve been really hooked (ha ha) on this game lately. I don’t play it a ton, maybe 1-2 in game days at a time, and then move on to my other games. The time management style of game can really stress me out, but the way this is split out between “go fishing for your sushi bar, do diving quests” and then “go serve the fish you caught that night” ends up breaking up the time management stress and makes it a lot more fun to me. I finally got to hire staff for my sushi bar, so hopefully that will make it less crazy over time.

This has been my go to since it launched recently, I play a day or so before work in the mornings, and it’s been some cozy fun. Even the underwater air management isn’t too bad, it’s easy to find O2 canisters to extend your bottom time, so it takes the stress out of it. Except for that first damn shark - he took me awhile to kill. :)
