I've done it once or twice in the early days to see what was up, never since then.
I read this article and my main takeaway was: that Bling Bling song sucks.
How many turn signals do we think are going to be used during this convoy?
Up and down! 0 motivation to do work but had some nice moments otherwise. And Euro 2024 happening is fun.
Wooo, Framework! I've got a 13 and I love it. Enjoy!
Genuinely, this could be good marketing for the TV show that Amazon could do - would just have to make it clear somehow that Mr. House wasn't involved in the show.
"Flavor Flav is a swiftie" - Flavor Flav. This article just keeps hitting.
Good on ya! I got mine a few years back at 27 and haven't had a single regret. Taking an active role in family planning and making sure your partner(s) don't need to deal with the side effects of birth control is awesome.
The whole "25 y/o brain fully developed" thing is not something you should be putting much weight in, for what it's worth. https://slate.com/technology/2022/11/brain-development-25-year-old-mature-myth.html
How do you find motivation when it's not there?
Whether it be to do your job, get your schoolwork done, clean your house, work on your creative passion, etc.
Bonus points if you're someone without reasonable self-control so saying something like "I can only have a cookie after I do this/while I do this" doesn't work for you and you're just going to eat the cookie and not do it.
I'm always telling people to REALLY watch Napoleon Dynamite. I think it got quoted and proto-memed to death when it came out, leading to most people having an unfair idea in their head of what the movie is.
The soundtrack is phenomenal. The acting is (mostly) way better than you may have thought it was. Jon Gries (Uncle Rico) was nominated for an Independent Spirit award and he absolutely deserved that nomination. The cinematography is excellent, especially knowing how much it cost to make + how much experience the crew had. Though it's not explicitly said, I think it's ultimately a story about neurodivergent people finding friendship, solidarity, and happiness in a world not made for them.
Also, the scene where Uncle Rico throws a steak at Napoleon is still funny.
Honestly: I cannot have the Instagram app on my phone (both for privacy and for addiction) - I have it installed on Waydroid and the fact that it works like 50% of the way keeps me from using it more than a couple times a week.
25 cents have been added to my swear jar, don't worry!!
"Sending climate protesters to prison shows the law is an ass"
I love clarifications like this! Good on ya.
Win's is still so tough to me. I read through each of the statements and my final thought was: he did some bad things, but nothing that's going to get him thrown in jail. Similar to Aziz Ansari if I remember correctly. Now whether or not punishment would be morally right is another discussion, obviously our legal system is Very Flawed.
It was to me too, had to go looking - guessing this from Wikipedia is what it was:
Kiedis acknowledges in his autobiography Scar Tissue that he had sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl when he was 23, before and after learning of her age, in the 1980s. This inspired him to write the song "Catholic School Girls Rule".
I love the idea! If there was good support from something like GrapheneOS or /e/OS I would be looking at one of these.
Headline writer had fun with this one!
Read the title, thought "oh, the first nations folks are gonna be PISSED" and was pleased to find out it was their idea.
If Pomykal can avoid major injuries for a while it's over for everyone else, as they say... For me, I like the regular season and therefore I LOVE the AppleTV deal. I'm originally from Columbus (woo lamar hunt!) and basically being unable to watch games without paying for cable was terrible. Now I can watch every game and see the MLS360 whiparound show which is fun. But yeah, the USOC change is shameful, I hate it so much. I hope FCD make a good run in it this year, at least! If the Riverhounds and the Crew can't/won't win it, certainly wouldn't mind it being Dallas.
News outlets you like in Pittsburgh?
Hey all,
Just curious - what are the news outlets you like? Obviously not thinking about the paper being struck right now. Is there much of a difference in quality/trustworthiness of the TV news stations?
Otherwise, I've been checking our PublicSource and Pittsburgh Union Progress.
MLS NEXT PRO CUP FINAL REMATCH DAY.
(technically)
VAMOS COLUMBUS, DON'T GIVE UP ANY STUPID GOALS!
Bye Bye, Room
Had been reported before but is now official, a mutual contract termination. Thankful for him helping us win an MLS Cup, but this seems like the right move for all parties, sadly. Catch him signing in Romania to be close to his idol Andrew Tate.

Highmark Stadium always provides - Pittsburgh Riverhounds vs. Detroit City FC last night
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/1580433 A slightly rainy night here in Pittsburgh but a delicious 2-0 over Detroit. Hounds solidifying their place as #1 in the USL Championship (with Sacramento Republic 3 points down but a game in hand).

Bob Lilley for Manager of the Year
Portland Predictions
How's everyone feeling? This game is a massive question mark for me. I can't get a good read on how Portland is this year, plus Nancy and Cucho being out makes this game very intriguing.
Part of me says, if we've got Morris ready to go, throw him in there and move Matan in for Cucho - but if he's not available I could also see swapping JRR in for Cucho (though they're dramatically different players).
Atlantic Puffins in Newfoundland
As seen at the Elliston Puffin Viewing Site. Phenomenal time there, I loved seeing these little goof balls go about their days.
Does Costco have Morningstar Farms products where you live?
Hi all. My partner saw online about Costco having big packs of Morningstar Farms Chik Patties/Grillers/etc. but we haven't been able to find it at our local Costco in Pittsburgh. Wondering if this a regional thing or if it might be an equivalent to Aldi's "Special Finds"? Any input would be appreciated!
Realtor recommendations in the city?
Hey y'all, allow me to be the first to do an "asking for advice" post on here. Anyone have recommendations for realtors that are based in/specifically focus on the City of Pittsburgh? I feel like I've seen way too many who are like "Pittsburgh Realtor!!! Based in Cranberry Township (or other far out suburb/exurb)" and that I want to avoid that hassle. We have to live inside the city limits due to my partner's job with the city (and honestly, we'd probably be living in the city anyways). Looking primarily at neighborhoods in the South Side with good public transit options.
Any advice is appreciated!
