I'm surprised that's still around. Is the average age still 14 on these networks?
Crazy. North Korea throwing poop. China going on an axe rampage. Which asylum will take those two please?
"To the contrary, the decision barely mentions copyright's ultimate purpose of promoting broad public availability of literature, music, and the other arts," it said.
It feels like the thoughts of the past came straight out of fiction. Today, nothing seems worth anything if you can't directly make money from it.
We should call it by what it really is: a power grab by the ruling class, upsetting the checks and balances that were achieved through decades and decades of struggle.
What are the prices for private solar plants? For Germany's electricity prices and current retail prices, PV and battery will pay for itself after around 6-8 years.
What's the consumer price for electricity in Spain?
Nope. It's consequential. They need to raise their shareholder value in any way that's legal, even if it's not morally right. If they won't do that, they'd get into trouble. For corporations tax loopholes are there to be exploited.
Making those loopholes illegal is what will fix this. Then you can call it good craftsmanship by politicians. Right now you can barley call it shoddy.
So, which backwater town will become the next big harbor City?
Took them an oil crisis (70s) to figure this out to be fair.

It's difficult to extinct us. If will take a thousand years of volcanoes, bad harvests, pandemics without vaccines, etc.
We're just so many now.
What's a lot faster is to wipe away the achievements of civilization, pushing us back into a state where starvation, disease and suffering are the norm and not the exception.

Lessons after a half-billion GPT tokens
My startup (gettruss.io) released a few LLM-heavy features in the last six months, and the narrative around LLMs that I read on Hacker News is now starting to diverge from my reality, so I thought I’d share some of the more “surprising” lessons after churning through just north of 500 million tokens...
Silent Running: A 1970s Environmental Fable Remains Depressingly All Too Relevant
Director Douglas Trumbull's special effects and Bruce Dern's intense performance anchor this haunting, melancholy classic.

Honestly, this is really cool. I tried building something like this a few month ago but struggled as I didn't have all the concepts nailed down yet.
But this is even better than I imagined. It's so clean and powerful. Look at the example:

The paper is coming out of Microsoft Research and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, so highly likely to not be a fake.
This is huge. I wonder when the NVIDIA stock is going to react.
