what's something you're into that you don't want anyone you know irl to know about?
  • I am sure you know a bunch of things about topics better than a lot of other people. Maybe you just think you don't know it well enough. Plus, being into something doesn't mean you have to be able to teach it to others, this doesn't mean your dumb. When you get a chance, give yourself some grace, you deserve it! :)

  • I there a way to NOT refresh when opening the app?

I see that the new version (1.0.171) says "now jumping to the top when doing a refresh".

For me the list gets refreshed when I open the app. So when I spent way too much time scrolling and finally stop and then later want to spend even more time continuing to scroll I open the app, it refreshes and jumps to the top and I loose the position way down. Now I have to scroll through all the posts I already saw to get to where I left off on the top today list.

Am I just using the app wrong? Or is there a way to make the app only update manually and not automatically when re-opening the app?

  • That's quite the judgement without ANY reasoning or explanation. I guess we can agree to disagree on that. I think her approach of looking at things makes perfect sense and has helped several people in know. Btw. she is not "just somebody who writes books" she was trained in Clinical Psychology at Cornell University and the New School for Social Research and studied at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis. Anyways, to each their own, I'll stick with it, she is a wonderful resource.

  • Mega Thread - Donald Trump Pleads Not Guilty to Conspiring to Defraud the United States in Arraignment - Washington DC
  • Jessica Yellin from "News not Noise" just answered this by saying "Before you ask, yes. Trump can run for president while indicted and he can serve if convicted. The question is: will voters elect a man charged with such grave crimes against the nation?" It is at the end of her substack post here: https://newsnotnoisejessicayellin.substack.com/p/the-news-not-noise-letter-trump-indicted

  • Talk me out of using countertop induction cooktops (with outlets for both higher powered commercial and lower powered household devices) as my burners vs having a built-in cooktop.
  • Depending on what kind of outlet you're talking about and what country you're in you may be limited in the power it will have. In the US at 110 V and maybe being able to pull 15 A (based on fuse for that circuit) you could only get 1650 W. A regular cook top or range is hard wired, has a much bigger fuse on they circuit usually 30 to 40 A and gets two phases so has 220 V which allows for much higher power output. My range's big induction burner has 3600 W for example so it's quite the difference.
