Need suggestions for a medieval/fantasy action game

  • The games have different settings so the amount of sci-fi differs, but a ton of fantasy JRPGs have "surprise" sci-fi element reveals at some point. Although the same goes for western RPGs too I guess; Ultima, Wizardry and Might & Magic all have their sci-fi moments.

    As for suggestions, I was going to say the Gothic or Risen games, but there's a fair amount of struggling involved in the beginning if you're not into that, and the combat isn't exactly incredible, so I'll just second Avowed which is way more fun than I expected.

  • They are technically trains*, if you don't want to consider them their own thing. There are plenty of languages where the name doesn't contain "car" if that's your metric.

  • More like three decades. Origin used to be one of the most legendary game studios before it was a crappy launcher. They also killed Westwood, Bullfrog, and many others.

  • It should make it harder for him to influence politics globally as well. People seem to think they have to listen when the world's richest man speaks, but the world's 20th richest one doesn't have that sway. Also seeing his net worth plummet should make other would-be emperors less inclined to throw their lot in with him.
