Just a quick reminder
  • I thought the narrator sounded familiar. Their videos on displays of different kinds are utterly mesmerizing. What an unreasonably high quality channel.

  • Rule 84, etc
  • Makes me think of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTB5XhjbgZA

  • You don’t have DNA anymore!
  • Getting hit by the bus is easy to explain. Clearly the heavy metals in the vaccines magnetized them.

  • What the duck
  • Every time I see this meme I think of Urban Rescue Ranch doing literally that

  • Clarence Thomas bought a $267,000 RV using funds from a Democratic donor
  • Reminds me of an episode of Common Sense by Dan Carlin from yeeears ago that basically said "the system is corrupt and voters aren't able to command our politicians to do what we want, so what if we just pool money together and bribe them too?"

  • Switch 2 would arrive in the second half of 2024 and development kits are already out
  • If you buy one they will announce a new one, if you don't they will not lol

  • New technology
  • It was probably Dave or somebody he worked with lol. Super interesting videos talking about tech stuff, windows, and what MS was like during his time

  • Inkscape 1.3 Release Notes
  • Wow this is huge! Most of my experience with Inkscape has been modifying designs for cutting with a Cricut and 1.3 has a handful of game changing features that were sorely missing.

  • Dat Boi rollin in from 2016
  • I miss this little fucker like you wouldn't believe

  • god rule
  • Fuck yeah king gizzard

  • In 2017, I bought a 1TB 960 Evo for 466€. Now, in 2023 the 1TB 970 Evo Plus is 43€.
  • Samsung has always seemed like the reliable (albeit expensive) option to me. I personally went with a 2TB Sabrent NVMe because it was on sale and it hasn't failed me yet.

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • It's been a long time since I was on blind but I recall them asking you to provide your work email to verify your employer. Don't recall them actually sending anything so not entirely sure how it verified. Blind is definitely a mixed bag of a platform, super toxic with people dick measuring over TC but also decent for getting word of what's coming your way (layoffs, etc)

  • Lemmy advertising model - thoughts
  • I make a mental note to avoid a company and their products whenever I see an ad. If I want your thing, I will seek it out. You wanna entice me to buy it? Go make your blogpost demonstrating why yours is better than the alternatives I'm looking at.

  • Why all of a sudden tech companies are not being favorable to their users?
  • Kind of? It's certainly companies actively moving towards shittier services at the same time as others, but I don't think it's as much of explicit and intentional collusion as it is high school clique prom politics and VC money drying up post rate hikes. There's more of a focus by investors on generating profit over growth at this point because money is no longer free. The safest play for a lot of these boardrooms is to not stand out as a company not realigning priorities to reflect this.

Facebook did layoffs? Okay we have too as well or we're not in the same big boy class as facebook. ... See? We're safe, money please

  • Google admits Reddit Blackout made search results worse: Report
  • it is on sale right now so 🤷‍♂️ wouldn't be their worst play

  • Pre-register to get notified when Boost for Lemmy is available to install
  • At the moment it doesn't seem that kbin has api docs so I'd expect it be a stretch, but seconded. I'd love to have kbin support. The kbin web app is currently sitting where Boost used to in my phone taskbar. It'd be nice to put things back where they belong

  • Boost confirms switching to being a fediverse app after the Reddit app shutdown.
  • Really happy to see that the dev is bringing Boost to Lemmy/Threadiverse. Losing Boost has been the saddest part of reddit shutting down for me

  • DeSantis says he would eliminate four federal agencies if elected president
  • reminds me of reagan wanting to give DoE the axe until he figured out they have the nukes lol

  • Userscript to redirect Lemmy links to Kbin magazine format

    greasyfork.org KBin Redirect

redirects Lemmy shortlinks to the appropriate page on KBin

Hi all! Here's a script I threw together to fix a little annoyance that was making Kbin a bit frustrating given how much is on the bigger Lemmy instances. Any shortlinks in the format of !topic@domain become /m/topic@domain and thus open correctly on your kbin instance. It only runs on kbin.social at the moment but I will gladly add other kbin sites if there's a list somewhere.
