Alabama Mayor Kills Self After Right-Wing Blog Outs His Cross-Dressing
  • Is it implausible that perhaps this person wished to hide within the GOP to escape its suspicions about their personal life? A Democrat mayor in a deeply Republican area would attract a lot of distrust and hostility simply by virtue of being a Democrat. A Republican mayor, not so much.

Is every trans person morally obligated to leave every institution that persecutes them? Even when to do so would scrutiny?

  • Free market innovation at its finest
  • the FDA investigating the restaurant because it potentially had more than 0.4% (?) of human flesh content. Why any at all? At such a small amount it's impossible to detect, completely safe to consume, and would be well less than a single finger in literal tons of hamburger

Not to actually argue against your point (nor to conflate this cartoon scenario with real-life regulations), but 0.4% would be way more than just one human finger in literal tons of hamburger. 0.4% of one ton would be 8 pounds / ~4 kilograms. I don't know how many human fingers that is, but I'm certain it's significantly more than one.

  • Philadelphia bans supervised injection sites – evidence suggests keeping drug users on the street could do more harm than good | The Conversation
  • The article is about someone who studied that and while they found it holds true in Denmark, it’s associated with increased drug deaths in Philadelpia.

What? Where in the article is that even suggested? What data is there that could suggest it--How could it possibly be known that supervised injection sites are associated with increased drug deaths in Philadelphia, when Philadelphia has never had them?

  • Can't believe I almost fell for a disinformation campaign
  • We should judge civilians by the leaders they elect, because elections are always fair, right? Weird that we don't seem to hold Russian citizens to the same standard as the citizens of Gaza, even though Putin is even more popular in Russia than Hamas is in Palestine.
