Must be 6'2" or taller
  • Not OP but the first three things I already experienced today were: Knee and backpain, standing out in a crowd, needing to slightly bend down vor everything in most standard kitchens.

  • Metal USB Sticks reviewed by fellow lemmy user

(I'll delete if OP wants to post it themselfes.)

I benchmarked 6 different metal USB sticks
  • I have a stick dangeling on my keychain too, also in heavy use. But due to my Mac-Friends i need one with usb-c. So I settled for this: 81gqM6ouEcL.SL1500-247235771 The hinge is still holding on since almost a year. Also have two of those: sandisk_ultra_dual_usb_c_flash_drive_3-1009136228 But they seem a lot cheaper, flimsier and I probably got ripped off by a dropshipper.

Havent benchmarked them, if anyone knows of a comparison as good as this one for "dual" usb sticks, let me know!

  • What do you secretly judge people for?
  • People who are using their cellphone/mobile as a telefon (calling someone) but not holding it as a telephone but as a slab in front of their face. And ofc with the speaker on.

Slightly better but still stupid: Videocalling (or Facetiming) with the phone right in front of their nose.

I mean, just hold the phone so that the speaker is at your ear and the mic is right by your mouth...

  • Linus Torvalds affirms expulsion of Russian maintainers
  • I mean there are chinese spies in europe, which suppress, bully and sometimes even kill chinese journalists who have fleed (?) to europe. And thats not even a conspiracy theory, there were investigative journalists who have uncovered this in several countries. So I'd say that china is reeealy close to that villain line

  • What are politically progressive Tesla owners doing with their vehicles now that Musk is transparently in bed with the opposite end of the political spectrum?
  • I strongly doubt that you NEED a cybertruck.

Go with the smallest vehicle you can get away with. For moving house or buying a big couch or sth you can rent a bigger vehicle (a van is probbaly more practical in these situations anyway).

Smaller vehicles are just so much cheaper in maintenance, EVs even more

  • Toxicity
  • I think the molecular structure is very similar to a necessary molecule (fat or sth.?). So the PFAS get in the place a normal molecule should be but they do the job not as good. Something like that. Great MinuteEarth Video about PFAS (4') https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3aFzQdWQTg

  • Findroid is a native android jellyfin client.
  • I use Symphonium for a year now and it is all I ever needed. Has all bells and whistles, great support and all of the features you could wish. A huge step up from the native app or even findroid and the likes.

  • I can't be the first to post this lmao
  • Nato is a group of independant, mostly democratic states. Nato generally doesn't kill people, because it doesn't attack, does not do genocide and most relevant for the meme, it doesn't redraw state lines.

If Nato would do several of those things, you might have a point, please prove me wrong.

Also the second pic is ridiculous. What even do the Nato-emblems mean? It cant be singular bases or single memberstates. So what is it? And what about russias allies, why arent they painted/highlited? If one would want to show the big allies, the BRICS+ states could be marked. But like this, the second image is worthless.

  • Pronouns bad!
  • Funnily enough this is how many non-binary people want to be adressed in german, as the equivalent of "they" (sie) is not used as a neutral version of he/she. Probably because "sie" is the same word as "sie" (she).

  • Technically we have a open-list party-list proportional representation for the Nationalrat (one part of the legislative on federal level, like the congress in the US). This is the most interesting one in my opinion. Other parts of the political body do have slightly different systems I think, the Ständerat (kinda like the senate) even has a majority system.

I went down a YT rabbithole, because of your comments :D Short, kinda maths-video about different votingsystems: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaxVCsnox_4 A longer math/maths-history video by veritasium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf7ws2DF-zk More about the tradition and culture in swiss politics (altho a bit romantic i must say) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ5pmW3l8tU

  • The app street-complete allows to hunt for information and contribute to OpenStreetMaps

My favorite feature: The Team-Mode, where you and friends can battle it out. Great when hanging around with a bigger group of friends, you can split up for a set amount of time and see, who gets the most points.

I am not affiliated with the app, but really enjoy it and thought that you guys might like it as well. Have a nice day!
