I wish I was as bold as these authors.
  • Yeah it is as if someone invented the microwave oven and everyone over hypes it as being able to cook Michelin star meals. People then dismiss it entirely since it cannot produce said Michelin star meals.

They fail to see that is a great reheating machine and a good machine for quick meals.

  • Mind you I am not saying Lemillion should have been given one for all. Just see that he should have been the main character. One for all could be a mcguffin for the heroes to keep out of the hands of the villains instead of using it like a cheat code.

  • Rule people
  • I also dislike when the underdog genuinly starts off as an underdog and is just given a cheat code which is played off as "hard work and determination".

Like the main character of My Hero Academia. A person born without super powers in a world full of super heroes. You get excited at how he will overcome his limitations..... and the answer to that is be given the strongest power in that world and get even more super powers on top of that.

It is especially annoying how the surrounding characters act like it isn't a cheat code.

Funny thing is in that universe there is a character called Lemillion who had powers with drawbacks and had to learn to take advantage of them. A true underdog making the most of the cards he was dealth with. He should have been the MC of the show.

  • Pros / cons of riding a bike?
  • Indeed, I should have worded my comment better. I just want to point out that it is an infrastructure issue rather than bicycles being objectively worse than cars.

  • Garth Ennis Wanted The Boys to Be Set in the DC Universe, and Homelander Would've Literally Been Superman
  • For me the power scaling got ruined. At the beginning my impression was all supers where captain america level of invulnerability and strength where homelander was super man. Ie he can effortlessly kill an army of supers.

In the last season butcher just tanked homelander's punches and he almost beat him with the help of Maeve. All his threat is simply gone and leads to the question why didnt a small group of supers just kill him already?

  • Pros / cons of riding a bike?
  • Just to add, if you go with a bicycle, you do not need to forgoe cars altogether. For those days you need to haul around a bunch of items, you can rent a car through a car sharing service. You can rent them for a few hours.

  • Pros / cons of riding a bike?
  • Go to asian countries, plenty of elderly on bicycles. It is just the elderly in western countries are sedentary which leads to atrophied muscles.

With the handicapped you can make the same argument with operating a motor vehicle.

Side note: I like cars. I even have a sim rig at home to race around in. But car centric infrastructure brings more negatives than positives.

  • Ah wasn't aware of the ability to change assistants. I stand corrected!

  • No, you don't need a 'very bespoke AOSP' to turn your phone into a Rabbit R1 — here's proof
  • Not sure what the surprise is. It is a device that needs you to sign into an account and have an internet connection. Ie it is just a dumb terminal. Kind of like how Alexa speakers are useless without an internet connection. All the processing is done on servers.

Even if it was not an android app, you probably could have made a clone of it since you are basically interacting with a web api.

In their defence the device has the advantage of giving you instant access to their ai through the touch of a button whilst on phones you would need to physically open the app as the "assistant" functionality is already reserved to Siri, Bixby, etc. EDIT: I wasn't aware you can change assistants.

Personally I like the concept if the processing was done within the device, but considering you need monster machines to run llms I guess we are least decades away from that reality.

  • The fact they chose india is probably for the low wages. So I wouldn't get my hopes up.

    godotengine.org Godot XR update - September 2023

Updates on various things XR in Godot, a new version of the OpenXR plugin, a new version of the tools library and an update on Godot 4 support.

XR work has slowed down this year due to the XR-specific line of funding running out. However, there is still plenty happening on the XR front to warrant another update.
