Ohio Issue 1 Vote August 8
  • From Ohio, they seem to love cucking themselves so this is probably gonna pass.

Please vote no, I can't think of a single advantage or positive outcome to raising the requirement to 60%.

  • KENOBI - The Boonta Eve Redux
  • Making a account just for this ty again

  • KENOBI - The Boonta Eve Redux
  • Incredible, adding it to the SW blu-ray collection if I can figure out how to dl without the mega app lol

  • Anyone using Flipper?
  • Wish I had a use for one. Really cool hardware

  • Is there a megathread of FOSS apps?
  • Anyone know what happened to social.fossware.space ? It had a whole lemmy community for foss android apps, seems to have disappeared :/

  • UK will rejoin EU in future, says Tony Blair
  • Zero chance they rejoin without being granted the same exceptions they had previously, and equally zero chance of the EU allowing that to happen. Ya done fucked yourselves, UK.

  • "Progress"
  • Wish we could do this in my town, miles of undeveloped lakefront access blocked by an 8 lane highway.. it sucks.

  • Most young people are no longer proud to be Americans, poll finds
  • The perspective was "geez it sure feels dumb celebrating 'independence and freedom' while sisters throughout the state are being actively oppressed."

They know a BBQ is a small thing, they know 12 fewer people watching fireworks won't make a difference, and they'll keep volunteering, protesting and voting accordingly... but when you're struggling to bubble up any feelings of patriotism and failing to find enjoyment in the spirit of the holiday, why participate?

  • Most young people are no longer proud to be Americans, poll finds
  • The wives of my friend group unanimously decided they straight up weren't taking part in July 4th until their bodily autonomy and right to care is restored. It sucked not having a cookout but I can't say I blame them in the slightest.

  • House Republican Says the Quiet Part Out Loud Ahead of Looming Government Shutdown: ‘Most Of What We Do Up Here is Bad Anyway’
  • Speak for yourself asshole, the most vulnerable populations among us are waiting for you to do your jobs. Typical GOP "The govt doesn't work and elect us to prove it" BS

  • Rockstar games milked it too much
  • Hm looks like each game takes ~2x time to complete and release the next, thus we can accurately estimate that GTA7 should be out around 2044, Just in time for my grandkids to enjoy it!

  • Add Lemmy to Reddit r/place
  • Every pixel is another +1 interaction on the site to pump their engagement numbers. Might not be direct views, but they are using r/place to offset the audience engagement losses over the monthly average. Spez is buying time before the summaries hit the board's desks.

  • Add Lemmy to Reddit r/place
  • Maybe let's just not go there? Tis a silly place.

  • Blender navigation like Unity 3D?
  • I know this is old and other comments have it right- it's a togglable mode. And while I know it feels comfortable coming from unity - I would highly recommend getting comfortable with blenders default navigation, for example selecting an object and using 'numpad .' to focus it. The navigation methods blender uses is way more efficient for modeling while unity's navigation is better suited for moving around large 3d spaces.

Ideally your individual blender projects should be much smaller than a full unity scene. Think of it less like flying around the 3d space but instead having your model sitting on a potter's wheel and spinning it around.

  • What happened to Postman?!
  • Insomnia has that classic postman feel, but personally I switched to hurl ( https://hurl.dev/ ) I really like how simple it is once it's setup.

  • [Appreciation Post] Holy shit Memmy got so good with latest release
  • My understanding is that kbin doesn't have an API right now, so apps can't be built yet

  • Daniel in his AT race suite
  • Half expecting him to have his RB jacket on overtop of this lol

  • ‘Your heart races a bit’: US weather man threatened with death for mentioning climate crisis
  • Impossible to say, there is no easy or immediate fix that I can imagine. I've basically accepted the underlying threat of fascism is something we are going to be dealing with for the rest of our time on the planet. Continue to vote to keep fascists off the levers of power, continue to protest whenever they have the levers, and pray the wheels of justice ground finely for enemies of democracy. Perhaps our kids or grandkids will find themselves in a better situation for their times...

  • ‘Your heart races a bit’: US weather man threatened with death for mentioning climate crisis
  • Cry me a river. Clinton had a plan to retrain and retool these coal towns your describing into productive green energy leaders and they rejected it because she eats babies and wind farms kill birds, or whatever. They are totally irrational and I'm not going to keep pretending otherwise. The real government failure is lack of education spending and critical thinking skills (thanks GOP) that is going to take generations to correct.

Edit: I'll add there are sparks of "hope" in rural america now that farmers are seeing the impacts of climate change effecting their yields, I think they are starting to come around. Probably too late, but it's something...

  • Random internet people explaining math better then math teacher
  • I never made it into algebra in grade school, my scores weren't good enough. but I took a liking to software dev and the ability to create digitally. Self taught myself all the variables and flow controls and OOP, now been a professional developer for 15 years.

However I still suck at math, and these fancy symbols still scare me probably because they were never properly explained. But yeah, I fit right in the mold you describe. Glad I have the computer to crunch the numbers for me.
