Explain that, science nerds!
  • Climate change isn't going to be an existential threat for a very long time. Realistically we're making life incredibly difficult and expensive for ourselves. Population numbers will drop markedly over time. But people don't see that this is still something to take urgent action on.

  • Can I install linux on this?
  • It might be an interesting project to hardware mod it to gut it and replace internally with an R.Pi.

  • Shampoo
  • I'm convinced my wife's shampoo could be considered a full meal of you drink it.

  • A cool guide for men’s wear
  • I have reviewed the advice, judged it to be useless and discarded it immediately. Thanks for sharing though, interesting read.

  • Are there any good casual/low-stress mobile games that aren't filled with microtransactions?
  • Slay The Spire is an excellent recommendation. Although a lot of people find roguelites stressful because they get stressed about losing progress. You just have to play with the right mindset:

    No worries

  • Dune rule
  • It would be pretty unpleasant watching both Star Wars and Dune. I would recommend watching them one at a time so that you can understand them.

  • Every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes
  • Here's another fact for you:

ɐɔᴉɹɟ∀ is the same as Africa but upside down and backwards

  • Custom Linux Distribution just for Gaming
  • Anyone able to give an ELI5 to a linux noob? I'm struggling to find what the benefit is of Fedora's atomic builds (is it just containerised apps? Is this an immutable distro?)....and then also what the benefit of Bazzite is on top of Fedora's atomic spins?

Are immutable distros good for daily driving?

  • Domestication
  • She is hilarious. Her charachter is amazing in Motherland (Netflix)

  • Rock Eagle Flag
  • I'll kill for peace

  • Hori Announces Controller Made Specifically for Steam
  • Most people online seem to feel quite strongly about it.

I'm quite strongly against it. I was really happy that my Nintendo Switch Hori controller didn't have rumble, because then I didn't have to bother turning it off in every game.

But then again I'm odd with a lot of things. I see no difference between 60Hz refresh and 120 Hz. High end speakers mean nothing to me. Movies are all the same to me in 4K or high quality 1080p. High settings in games add nothing for me over medium graphical settings. It works out really well for me. I can buy cheap electronics that I really enjoy.

  • Lemmy is the best social media
  • Everyday more and more people use thorbot's shit hole.

  • Rock Eagle Flag
  • The only thing that can protect from a child killer, is a child killer killer. The solution is to have more killers. Stop trying to regulate killers.

  • Steam users have spent $19 billion on games they’ve never played
  • The number is based on the 10% of Steam accounts visible publicly. And then they calculated based on current full retail price of the unplayed games. It's a nonsense figure.

  • What the fuck
  • I remember the damn shit bitch blip of '75.

  • Microsoft really wants Local accounts gone after it erases its guide on how to create them
  • People don't know and don't care. Privacy isn't an issue on anyone's mind (just like climate wasn't 20 years ago). People don't know or care about digital media ownership issues.

  • Microsoft really wants Local accounts gone after it erases its guide on how to create them
  • The most important part of this is:

the vast majority of people never cared

We make our happy little bubble here to be outraged in. The world at large carries on without caring. Just in the past few years, there's been the Reddit API change, the WhatsApp ToS change, the YouTube dislike button removal, etc etc. A small minority (like us) complains endlessly. The rest of the world shrugs and accepts enshitification.

lemm.ee I made another leverless controller for Street Fighter - lemm.ee

I previously posted this. [https://lemm.ee/post/9700155] I really like Street Fighter and I like making things…so both interests have combined and my wife thinks I’ve got a problrm: https://i.imgur.com/OvFO47j.jpeg [https://i.imgur.com/OvFO47j.jpeg] https://i.imgur.com/cSUfHDl.jpeg [https://i.imgur....

    White custom layout keyboard

I previously posted my custom layout keyboard which I use at home. I got fed up of the different layout at work so I made the same thing to have consistency. Really happy with the result. I'm trying to set up macros now to make annoying tasks at work faster.

Finally built a keyboard with my ideal 60% layout

Been thinking of doing this for over a year and finally got round to it. Found parts. Spent hours soldering, lubricating, stuffing with foam and programming QMK. So happy with the final result. It's a joy to use.

Gateron yellow switches. YMDK PCB, backplate and case. Ali Express keycaps.

It's a budget build and none of this is high end......but it has still worked out really well.

    The collection grows

Started with a fightstick I bought for Street Fighter 4 many years ago. Now that Street Fighter 6 is out, I've become interested in hitboxes and have started making them myself.

    The collection grows

When I first started I bought a fight stick. Now I'm finding it really enjoyable to make hotboxes.
