'Damning non-answer': Vance refuses to acknowledge Trump lost the 2020 election
  • The biggest takeaway for me is that all the good sounds bites are going to be Vance sticking his foot in his mouth. Vance had a bunch of safe and boring answers so nothing for Trump's base, who already dislike Vance. Walz was probably nervous but he definitely missed several chances to call things out.

  • Nah, it was just a show in Germany, even at Nuremberg only like 10 Nazi were executed. Most Nazis were just absorbed back into their society but the Germans just passed specific laws to prevent the display of Nazi flags. That is really the biggest difference. The Germans even let former Nazis back into the government.

  • I promise the Republican Party
  • It's worse than that, Dems today are literally more right wing than Richard Nixon. Nixon literally wanted Federal universal healthcare at one point, started the EPA and expanded welfare.

  • Jill Stein Is Killing the Green Party
  • People forget, but in the 70's Nader was so feared by the DC elite that Nixon repeatedly complained about him on the Nixon tapes. Nader would have been a good president based on his record of advocating for citizens over corporations.

  • Owning a Car Is Less Important To Younger Generations.
  • This is 100% my question. I am assuming to polling was specifically done in an urban environment where there is some public transportation. It makes sense that you'd still have a lot of folks that would still want a car. If this was a more rural poll or would have to be like 99% car.

  • Just a reminder...
  • And yet a local Domino's Pizza around here is still offering the same $12 an hour rate and advertising a manager salary of $25k a year! Corporations never learn and people wonder why customer service is so crappy.

  • 4 wounded at Brooklyn train station when officers shoot man wielding knife
  • So one of the cops shot the other cop in the torso? Talk about a well trained police force. It's like something out of Naked Gun. And clearly the cops being there clearly made the situation much worse and injured more people. These stooges should never carry a gun again.

I'm sure NYC will be on the hook for a few lawsuits out of this one situation alone that will at least get into the low millions! Great job NYPD for a subway fare!

  • It's really insane if you listen to Reagan talking about immigrants being the strength of the nation and keeping the USA young and growing. And how if we ever stop with immigration or would ruin the country.

  • Earbuds
  • What I hate is my car finally caught up and now has an aux jack for listening to audio from my phone but now my phone doesn't support it, so I still can't listen to anything on my phone in the car.

  • I'm willing to be proven wrong but this ad is almost certainly fake. For one the logo used in the ad didn't exist? In the early 60s McDonald's did have red text but it wasn't off-center, when it was later off-center the text was white or black but not red. Maybe that's the joke and why it was created, but McDonald's was never this edgy. It was more commercials about mcnuggets being born to die or the weirdness of the hamburgler and grimace.

  • Tuesday 9/10 Presidential Debate Megathread!
  • I hear what you're saying but do you really think young people watched the debate? Debates are really just for sound bites for ads and Harris got what she needed there. Most young people just ingest the debates via shorts on YouTube, TikTok, etc and it's easy to pull out the best stuff for those.

Trump's biggest problem is he is essentially at his ceiling of voters, about 46%.

  • School Monitoring Software Sacrifices Student Privacy for Unproven Promises of Safety.
  • They were searching backpacks and lockers in my high school back in the 90's, student privacy has been dead for a long time. And at the same time they let students keep rifles in their cars on school grounds during hunting season so those students could hunt before school. There's no real logic at work, just school boards reacting.

  • Colin Gray, father of Georgia school shooting suspect Colt Gray, formally charged in connection with son's shooting spree
  • But also you'd probably react differently if the police showed up to your house because your kid made threats about shooting people. Like you wouldn't then go buy them a gun for Christmas, regardless of how well you stored it.

Abuse doesn't really jump out to me, more like denial.
