It's an online game, mods aren't the easiest or even preferable thing to implement in that format. Family share also can have issues with online content. The streaming one is fair. None of those are inherently anti-consumer.
I think there's more attempt by "lurkers" to actually post here. And a lot of those lurkers are suddenly like, whoa, I can comment on something and my voice is actually heard? People are reading this even though I didn't post to the thread in the first 20 seconds of it existing?
Just opened it to look at the page myself. It feels like an old friend died in a way. Not on any level nearly that emotional obviously, but still similar.
I'm hoping Lemmy can turn into something great, so I'm here for the ride. Using Liftoff as my Lemmy app currently.
Loving the app so far. Baconreader transplant from Reddit. Nothing will replace BR in my heart but this app is beautifully done and I appreciate getting to have such a solid start on Lemmy with it! Heres to hoping I'll be using it as long as I used baconreader!
Also using Liftoff. It's in early access and Android-only but it's working very well and pleasant to use.
So far Liftoff has my vote on Android.
There's atleast two of us!
Baconreader IS reddit as far as I'm concerned. Hello Lemmy.
If you happen to be on Android, I'm using Liftoff to access Lemmy.world https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.liftoffapp.liftoff&pli=1 and while it isn't a baconreader replacement, it's been the best way to access Lemmy that I've found so far.
If you guys want a good app and you're on Android, check out Liftoff, currently in early access: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.liftoffapp.liftoff&pli=1
It's been the best way to use it on mobile that I've found so far. I come from baconreader on Reddit. While it's no replacement it's very functional so far.
The easiest way to explain it is there's a bunch of websites all using the same api, you can see all the communities from all the websites with any of the websites, and you can subscribe to the ones you want. This one is hosted at lemmy.world but you could read and subscribe to it over at lemmy.ml if you wanted to.
If you want world news you can subscribe to any communities from the federation. Or all of them.
