As mind-reading technology improves, Colorado passes first-in-nation law to protect privacy of our thoughts
  • I believe it should work with some kind of brain waves(telepathy?), apparently some kind of device you put in your head and it read information from your brain, the spooky question would be if there is a way to make a device like that to be able to read information from someone's brain remotely. IDK this looks like a bad idea but anyway it's already here, according to the information I believe there will be more places where law get updated about it.

Edit: maybe it could be used for interrogation also, I mean you could know if someone it's saying the truth or not by reading their brain.

  • It would be good that shit works for that but I don't think so.. let's see what happens when the NSA have access to your thoughts.

Edit: I think they will apply the "if you didn't hide anything then there is nothing to worry about" discourse.

The first-in-the-nation law in Colorado includes biological or brain data in the State Privacy Act, similar to fingerprints if the data is being used to identify people.

Why is there not an equally opposing force to Project 2025?
  • People on the left have historically had a lot of difficulty organizing, I think in part because they are always trying to impose their subjective point of view on others and that prevents them from forming a plan of action and following it.

  • Do billionaires work monday to friday like all 9-5s?
  • Ok but how much more money have made Microsoft with Minecraft exploiting other people?, I'm not saying they isn't a billionaire I'm just saying at some point people start delegating work or like in this case selling it to someone who can delegate the work to make even more money.

  • Do billionaires work monday to friday like all 9-5s?
  • Exactly..

Edit: I'm not saying they didn't work but there is a limit of money someone can make working by themself, so at some point they start to delegate stuff to make more money, so yeah at the end start exploiting someone else to make more money.

  • Do you think people who consume drugs are cool or they have mental problems?

I'm not the kind who give a fuck about what other people usually do unless it directly affect me but I'm wondering what's the opinion about this on Lemmy.

Be honest... Are you a bad person?
  • I think it depends on what exactly everyone else define as a "bad" or "good" person. As I don't like to see life as black and white I don't define myself as someone "bad" or "good".

  • With the advances in AI and telepathy fields, how do you see the future of privacy?

Edit: maybe at some point, the police will be able to read our thoughts to know if we are innocent or guilty with a non-invasive device.

Is it possible to run a LLM on a mini-pc like the GMKtec K8 and K9?

I have experience in running servers, but I would like to know if it's possible to do it, I just need a GPT 3.5 like private LLM running.
