I've always been like this. Sadly my wife finds controversy at every turn and I get dragged in.

I did it a week ago and it was just a case of passing through the video card. I came across a lot of guides and they were all in the CLI. I assume things have improved or maybe it differs per card. I was just using onboard graphics from an N100 CPU.
I have a Debian VM that runs on a two node Proxmox cluster. The media is shared from an NFS share hosted on a Pi4 that has a USB drive attached.
The two nodes are new from AliExpress and have an N100 CPU, 16GB RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. They were £90 each.
A cheap setup but it works for me. It's really to replace Plex which has been the go to app for media around the home.

I'm a recent convert to Linux and went with Arch. I like minimalist stuff and Arch is right up my street in that regard. I did have issues though, games would crash when opening after there was some code change in the kernel for AMD cards a few weeks ago. It's fixed now but surprisingly it took about two weeks to get fixed and reach my install. Life on the edge I suppose.
My keyless entry VW has flaps on the door handles which you can use a key to open the doors if the battery was depleted.
But again it's only the minority using extensions or actually taking the time to deny cookies.

This banner is the same tactic used by malware. It targets the average Joe that just accepts anything thrown in their face. It's the same with the cookie popup we see in the EU. People just click accept to get it out their way so they can view the content they came to see.
They pushed me to Linux (Arch btw).
They aren't targeting people like me though. They are targeting people like my wife that doesn't read what she clicks and just accepts it.
Microsoft are being really very pushy to get people to use Edge.
