A significant portion of the population will not rub two brain cells together to understand the "warming -> change" connection, as reasonable as it is. Same thing with the "defund the police" slogan. Yes, when you understand the concept you can see the meaning, but for those that don't bother to understand the concept, the "brand name" is the beginning and the end of thought applied. When the "brand name" is easily attackable, the idea is dead so far as they're concerned.

As frustrating as it is, persuasive arguments need to also appeal to those who are persuaded by quips and jokes as well as those who are persuaded by logic and reason. Unfortunately "Global Warming", the "old brand" is still sticking around, and still able to be joked away by many people, hence the reason for the image post in the first place.

Once they rolled out ads on the home page (Shame. Shame. Shame.), I installed "Launcher manager" and "Wolf launcher" to give it an interface I really like. A big background picture, some large buttons for the commonly used apps, and then progressively smaller buttons as you scroll down the screen for the less commonly used features.

It broke once when an update rolled out, but since then has been running fine and I never once see the bloated monstrosity that is the default home screen.

The only qualm with my setup I have is that access to the configuration sidebar isn't as intuitive as it was with the pre 9.0 version (which frankly I don't remember anymore aside from the general impression). That's a very minor price to pay to have an interface without ads.

Thanks for the response, that confirms my assumption, seems like I was configuring it right, but the behavior is not as expected.

• If HA is active/onscreen already, the command will do nothing.
• If HA is idle/offscreen, the command will bring HA to the forefront, but not change pages. (This is the state it is in after the "turn_off" sends the launcher intent.)
• If HA is off, the command will launch HA, and navgate to the correct page.

Is this all that is to be expected? or should I be able to get to the desired dashboard, from any previous screen or application state?

I know! So cool! I really need to do side by sides with varying degrees of investment. I struggle with remembering the results of my work with enough specificity to compare from batch to batch, so it's hard for me to tell how much is justified or not!

Summary of the dissent: Nobody here has standing. PERIOD. That corporation could bring it to us, and is explicitly permitted to act as an independent financial and legal entity, so they can bring it theirselves. IF they brought it themselves, congress clearly delegated authority to "waive or modify" provisions, and provide substitute rules appropriate to the situation, after they had passed it explicitly for the gulf war, then explicitly for 9/11, and then opened the doors wide open to any national emergency because they have more important things to deal with during emergencies than student loan policy. The scale of the action matches theS scale of the emergency, and is actually smaller than the previous action (loan pause) that the previous administration instituted. So in other words, loan relief like this may have been a shit idea, may have been a great idea, but it is exactly what the law allows and the court has no business deciding otherwise. It's not our fucking job to write policy.

Winner winner chicken dinner! This is EXACTLY what happened. I reprinted again after tightening belts, fixing bed wobble, and re-leveling, and kept a closer eye on it this time. The nozzle was indeed catching on that "Y" support due to the edge curling up. Wasnt enough to kill the print this time, but enough to make me nervous...

Ironically, the thing I'm printing is an all-in-one case so that I can segregate the PSU, main board, pi, and controls from the printer itself to enclose it and have better temp control!

After a college mead making experience that turned out terrible, I recently had a go at making T'ej . I haven't the slightest clue if a regular mead drinker would say it tastes perfect, tastes like ass, or is somewhere in between, but I enjoy it!

I didn't rack it, just went from the main fermentation carboy to bottles after letting it crash by pouring and stopping before too much sediment came out. I haven't back-sweetened it but it's still somewhat sweet and feels a hair like champagne, so I'm a bit afraid it's going to slowly keep on fermenting in the fridge and carbonate a bit, but I'll burp the bottles every once in a while so I can keep an eye on it.

Moral of the rambling story: I'm usually the kind of person that goes all out trying to do something the "right way", and this looks like an excellent guide/summary of how to do that, but my laziness often wins out. In this case at least, I've found success doing the bare minimum. I am a bit curious to see how different it would taste following a more rigorous recipe :-)

You mean is the later shift consistent? I.e. a constant offset rather than skew? I think that is the case, yes.

Thanks for the tips, and the clarification that spool catching can't cause this sort of issue with a Bowden setup, I missed that nugget of info! I posted in other comments, but I think it was definitely a catch and loose belt. Surprised that the loose belt didn't cause problems throughout the print, but maybe I've just been getting lucky all this time!

I'm willing to reprint the entire thing for sexy smooth lines. My manual handicraft of sanding, gluing, painting, etc always leaves me disappointed in the final result 😂

The glass plate was shifted! Not by the amount the print shifted, but definitely off! I think that means a collision was likely!

I don't seem to be able to really fix that gap, at least not to the degree that the clamp is perfectly flush. I think it was exaggerated a bit by a somewhat loose belt. I thought a loose belt would exhibit problems throughout the print, and honed in on the spool issue without realizing it was describing direct drive behavior.

I've got the belt tightened a bit more, and fixed a little bit of wobble in the bed. We'll see if that's enough...

Thanks for the insightful comment! I wasn't aware of any big change in quality from Creatality, or those pretty shady review practices. I got my printer right near the start of the pandemic (May 2020), so maybe I got lucky with timing before everything went to shit :-/

If they're junk these days, that's genuinely pretty sad. Always a shame when the a product gets worse due to the manufacturer cutting quality.

Yeah, I think I need to move that way. If it doesn't fit in the unRAID box or the main PC. It needs to go. Whether that's donation, selling, recycling or trash, I should just quit hoarding the parts. I'm one of those folks that saves the best weapons till the end of the game "in case I need them", picks the neutral path instead of the dark/light path cause I don't want to cut off my options, and would rather organize my 50 spare USB cables by size/type/length than throw them away. 🤣 It's a thought process that pervades more than just spare PC parts after upgrade lol.
