can we prioritize Wi-Fi networks yet?
  • Question here, why do the cameras I need to only connect to that one? Using an extender won't create a truly separate net, some might create a NAT to look separate but you can still connect from the extenders net to the host net.

  • I know Finland isn't exactly friendly with Russia, but the fact that you argue this from an instance run by someone a hop and a skip from Moscow is a beautiful irony...

All trolls, no, but given the notorious prevalence of media manipulation seen out of the region it's a given that some not insignificant portion of the loudest voices are here looking to cause trouble.

  • can we prioritize Wi-Fi networks yet?
  • WiFi continually beacons out to try and find previously connected networks and will select for the best signal from an AP it can reach. Extenders can be a trick if you're sitting in the 'crossover' space between the extender and the back haul it connects to.

What you might try instead is one of those distributed AP systems like Unifi or similar where all the APs are controlled by a switch and work in unison. The one I have at least has an ability to disconnect someone if they drop below a certain level and migrate them to another AP without breaking the session states.

The other option that I can think of is just turning off the auto connect for the extender net and only using that manually.

  • Something I've noticed is that if something is posted with a positive view of Biden there's a fairly consistent pattern where it gets up voted initially but as the day gets later and more into the daytime hours of your Russia/China side of the world the down votes start to come in. One can speculate on that for what it's worth I guess...

  • Other than it costing ~$4,000 for a print of an old photo which is kinda how art tends to work, I'm not seeing the problem here?

  • We've permitted bribery for years with that alternate name of lobbying, nothing new really there.

The official acts thing is far more troubling particularly since as I understand it they left the declaration of what is 'official' ambiguous saying the lower courts would have to decide on each case. If so it opens a door for years of infighting as different districts decide their preferred person was working as president or candidate in any given action.

  • The Absurdity of the Dump-Biden Uprising
  • There was an event the next day where he gave a speech to a friendly crowd and by comparison he sounded like a spry well organized guy half his age. Hardly a mention of that out there though. I'm not a big fan of his miliqtost, half steps on a lot of things but it's playing the game with what cards are available and having decades in political office gives you the experience to do it. I'm largely willing to write off the debate as being so flustered with the torrent of bullshit coming from Trump that it put him off balance.

  • [email protected]: An open source two factor auth app that syncs keys between devices?
  • The hard part is securing the exported tokens in a way that you could quickly replace them in the event a device was lost/compromised. A good practice would be something like with Aegis you can have it save an encrypted export whenever you make a change and then sync that to an external location where you can re-import it from. Wiping them from the original lost device is another challenge in itself, but as I recall both Android and Apple have mechanisms where you can send a signal to remotely wipe the system.

  • Behind the ‘last firewall’: Hill Democrats scramble to save themselves
  • True, I'm more referring to the primaries in 2016 and 2020. You get all too many around here clamoring for 3rd party protest votes or disengagement.

Even with the sketchy goings on during those two, if there was an overwhelming vote for Bernie (who's no younger mind you, but it's an alternate that appeals to a different demographic) it'd be a tough sell to go against that even if the party did get a court to agree they could.

Even without party backing though, if there was a particular person that people took to en-masse the rules don't preclude them from office or appearing on national ballots. Look at Trump, people at first wrote him off as a joke, similar to the other times he ran before, now he's a major threat to both parties.

  • Price of blood?
  • Huh, odd that they don't advertise it more then. Probably make the notion of selling it get less of a rep of desperate people needing money and more similar to donating blood as an altruistic thing, so you get more involved.

  • Because you can put in those equal rights laws and enforce them, along with all the various other things like building roads and schools and such. To think you can just outlaw racism and such is foolish though. You would be trying to literally tread into thought police territory there.

  • Don't recall where I indicated any of them where controversial, care to point it out? I simply pointed that this complaint of 'no progress' is ignoring some pretty major progress over the years.

  • Oklahoma schools head Ryan Walters: Teachers who won't teach Bible could lose license
  • Racism, homophobia, and the like are not a matter that can be solved politically. One can make all the affirmative action and equal rights rules you like but the issue at the root is society and culture based. Educational standards are being fought against in our most conservative states pushing for religious indoctrination and denying historical reality.

You have a wing that actively pushes the militarization of the police over community support and engagement, and those same people trying to turn society back to the 'traditional norms' as they existed before the civil rights movement.

Given the realities of the need to actually get votes through, just how would you suggest those things be fixed?

  • Oklahoma schools head Ryan Walters: Teachers who won't teach Bible could lose license
  • And maybe they're ignoring things like the civil rights movement, the original implementation of Roe, the progress of the LGBT community and all the other society changes that have happened in that same time.

  • You done flew that squid into a cloud of reactionaries who get real uppity if their vision of things doesn't happen by 3 months ago. A story about what a political twat said MIGHT happen is suddenly priority #1 amongst all the other things the POTUS has to deal with on the daily.
