Absolutely agreed, it was nice to have your daily websites that you'd visit every day to check in for different stuff. They each had their own personality, design, content, niche. It was a much more fun experience and discovering new websites was amazing.
Another shout out to CX File Explorer.
Interesting, I've used the dev chart to develop K400 and I thought they were fine, what developer are you using? Although, maybe they are getting overdeveloped and I just don't see it.
Kentmere is great for price, agreed on the low contrast but I was ok with that, easy to fix in post and sometimes I liked the "neutral" look of the shots, however I was getting very dirty scratched negatives from it. Clearly that is my fault, but I thought I was being careful with them and it doesn't happen to me with other films so I've switched to Fomapan.
FP4 is beautiful, I shoot Fomapan for price, but FPR is amazing. I don't shoot a lot of very long exposures so didn't know about those issues with Fomapan, a shame. So what you're saying is, it is not consistent with long exposures? Like, several long exposures that are exactly the same result in different film reactions?
Never heard of Lucky 200, will search for it. Got any photos you shot on it to share?
Same, captcha was unbearable when using VPN so I just went to Bing. Fuck Google.
anywaaaaaaaaaays...
I'm thinking a lot of the equipment is different as well, and since they mention simulating equipment malfunctions, that plays an important part, especially with the additional limitations/simulated dangers.
I guess that depends on what you consider reasonable. I figure if they're starting with simulations such as this now, it's reasonable to expect an actual manned mission in maybe 20 years.
For anyone wondering, you can subscribe to that community and interact from within Kbin here: https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]
It appears, very faintly, over the icon of the magazine, to the left of the text. Nothing?
Really interesting read and cool to be able to see the exact gear and settings that were used for each shot. The portraits seem super bland to me but I guess that's what you want for such things, very vanilla, very clean. Thanks for sharing.
Nikon Z8 service advisory/recall: lens cannot be locked to camera - Nikon Rumors
Nikon issued a service advisory/recall for the Nikon Z8 camera. The described problem is that a lens cannot be mounted on the camera because the lens cannot be rotated to the locked position.
Another shout out to kbin.social, which I think will be the friendliest for users.

YouTube suggested it to me. Not my video, don't know anything.
I'm just one user, but for what it's worth, I would rather have my "mod" options separate from the sites's settings, it makes it clear which ones are "official" and which ones are on my end. RES did it this way and I think it worked well. I'm not saying RES is any sort of model to follow, but it's been developed for a long time so there is precedent that others had the same idea.
What an excellent idea and implementation (as far as I can understand it). It makes so much sense to put everyone's efforts into a "suite" and create a super customizable user experience. I can't wait to try this and I hope all of you talented peeps get on board with it.
Ah, there it is! Thanks for reporting it, I'm glad it's in the queue.
Interesting, I'm also on MIUI 12.5 but I'm using Brave. Not really willing to change my browser for this, so I'll just wait. Thanks for the info, though!
It fails at respecting my screen's orientation lock on Android, so when in bed it kept rotating to landscape and that was extremely annoying, so had to remove it.
Photo-A-Week Challenge?
Would anybody else be interested in participating in a weekly challenge of sorts?
I'd be happy to establish some sort of theme every week and it might be a fun way to populate this magazine and get to know each other and our styles.
Let me know your thoughts and if more than a handful of us are into it, I'll get that going.
What's your go to B&W film?
I've played with pretty much any film I come across, and in terms of cost-benefit I've settled on Fomapan films. I like the grain structure, they are some of the cheapest BW film available and have great latitude if you like to mess with stand development. I shot this photo on a Pentax ME camera using Fomapan 100. Developed at home with Ilfotec DDX and scanned with a Canon 5D Mk3 + Canon 100mm f2.8.
How do I subscribe to/find a non-kbin community?
I hope it's ok to ask questions here...
So, here's a thread: https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]/t/48054/Skeptic-A-community-for-critical-takes-on-pseudoscience-quackery-and
In that thread, there's a link to a lemmy community ([email protected]) if I click that link, it takes me to the lemmy.world website.
How can I find and subscribe to that community from within kbin?
I tried going to kbin.social/m/[email protected] but that doesn't work. Searching for skeptic results in a bunch of posts and comments.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I just figured it out. The correct formatting is kbin.social/m/[email protected]
Still, is there a way to filter search results to only show communities?
