Overwatch also had paid lootboxes and skins. Overwatch was very heavily monetized.
If it was a bad game, there would not be so many people playing it and shelling over money for skins.
Uh, no? It's been proven time and again that people who buy skins don't buy it out of love for the game, but because it's effectively gambling and triggers the same spots in your brain that dopamine does.
I feel so terrible for the GF. Not only was she a victim of rape, she had to make a choice that would either cause her to lose her family or her boyfriend. Though I don't think OP was wrong in any of his actions, it's still such a terrible situation for her.
I use the default Mastadon app, it works fine enough.
Went to see the drones show at Waterloo Park!
Glad this is downvoted. It takes way more than a couple of hours to completely change your apps backend to read from a completely different website’s API. And that’s not even thinking of how complicated dealing with the fediverse is, dealing with multiple domains and logging in through multiple fediverses.
The guy doesn’t owe you anything. Please be quiet.
Practically speaking, not really, because the jail time for Arson is a lot more than burglary.
I would rather not think about how much spam that email was getting if it was indeed outpacing Gmail's auto delete 💀
Thoughts on Wealthsimple's Stock Lending?
Wealthsimple recently opened stock lending. I had never heard of it before, but it sounds interesting - you only have potential upside (with the only real downside being your money isn't covered by CIPF if something goes wrong)
Pretty sure Gmail starts deleting old emails in this case?
Congrats! :)
What’s your general opinion on cards with annual fees? What benefits would it need for you to consider one?
Personally, my spending is still too haywire for me to like annual fee cards. I don't want to be forced (consciously or subconsciously) to spend more money just so I can break even on the annual fees. Not spending money will always be better than any % of cashback.
If you have consistently high spending (e.g. if you have kids), then maybe. But I still don't like the idea of paying more money to get more money, since it invariably means you're making money off of people who can't pay high fees, or people in credit card debt.
The best Mastadon for that is tech.lgbt
:)
Potato. People think just because they’re used to make French friends, they’re unhealthy. Just don’t deep fry them and they’re perfectly fine.
Oh yeah, they’ve done that already. I don’t think they’ll extend that to actual web tho
I highly doubt Reddit is gonna shut down their website.
People say GS, but I feel like financing iPhones only makes up a tiny part of Apple Card lending.
Same. If only there were alternatives to lemmy…
Was gonna say the same thing, but glad alternatives exist. I’m not active enough of a user for the differences to matter.
Now, if only there were iPhone apps for Lemmy…
