#2 Weekly Bad Writing Prompts, Xx_The Worsening_xX
What's crackalacking! Yeah, I'm actually sticking to this, since it seems like a lot of people had a lot of fun with it last week, and I'm still having fun forcing my horrible ideas onto the unsuspecting populace of beehaw. And then you lot, entirely forgetting the point of all this take the bad ideas and actually make them entertaining! How could you?! I've actually become emotionally attached to Emo-Chan and her battle to defeat Hitler. Of the drama obsessed story teller food critic. Alice and her Woman Emotions. And, of course, the late entry of Timmy's Taco Tuesday Torment. (How could you miss the alliteration you MONSTER)
Jokes aside, I'm going to do things a bit differently this time. I've always found the traditional reddit writing prompt to be a bit too limiting, so I'll be trying to include some writing prompts that don't really follow the formula of "here's a story idea." To a greater extreme. Also, feel free to post your own prompts in the comments, I'll try to edit the post to include them, and if I find the time/energy to, I'll write a few myself. No promises though, I'm a lazy bastard.
Adding onto that, I want to stress that the point of this activity is just to write. Not write a complete or even good story. Just to write. If you don't like the prompts, ignore em, or make up your own, or write about how bad the prompts are. I don't care just write!
Now, I'll stop fudging around and give you the prompts of the week.

A deep intrigue story filled with deep plots where everyone has their own interests. It's for a baking competition.

Since I'm apparently on an anime roll here right now. The plot is that the cast is trying to kill God. God is just a chill dude though.

An adventure story where the dohicky that everyone is after is lost media from a children's TV show from the 70s. This is treated with a grand amount of severity.

I make a fruit platter for work each week, decided I might as well start posting them here. Any thoughts for what fruit I should go with next week? I kinda just tossed this together, haha!
I'm down for it. Completely and entirely. The popes brother becomes a master thief/super villain. I god damn love it, haha.
No worries at all mate, I'm just trying to keep communities active and happy, and posting "bad" writing is just a reason. The saying is to write everyday, not to write well everyday.
Yeah, I think reddit is going to die (if only due to the process of enshittification and the consequences of going public) but the idea of a mass exodus is a bit of a dream. Anyone who has had a conversation going on in one channel, and then have a mod tell them to move it to a more appropriate channel should know this. The conversation doesn't move, it just stops 9/10 times.
But we shouldn't be preoccupied with reddit as a community. Give what you can to Lemmy and enjoy it for what it is, not wishing it to be reddit.

Hell, even if people move back to reddit, I've made the choice to stay on Lemmy, and give a small community everything I've got.
Oooh, I'm presuming New Zealand then? Honestly, learning about possum fibre was a shock, when my coworkers told me about their possum wool scarf. I still think it's a bit weird to wear the screaming bastards haha.

All I'm seeing is a place to upload video instructions to the tutorials I'm going to post here. Heh.
Adding on- I believe you could make the "have to be married but hate one another" trope well if you made both the characters as adults. It'd be a nice way to wrestle with the themes of what we have to give up as individuals for the world around us. Though the trope itself seems more commonly used as an "enemies to lovers" thing, which can have it's place (if very much overdone at this point).
Honestly, I can hardly choose my favourite line in this whole thing. I love it so much, more-so as someone who is working in white tablecloth dining (thankfully all the chefs here are lovely and sane).
The courses change nightly, depending on the seasonality of rutabaga, the availability of jamon iberico pata negra, and, most importantly, the temperament of the chef.
I had to choose one but overall, just. Mwah. I love the entire thing, I was genuinely laughing through the whole thing. Thanks so much!
On the non comedy side, I really like the opening too. How it colours the rest of the story, where the drama is the interest rather than the food. God damn, I ask for bad writing and people come in here giving some great stuff.
Noooo you cut it off at the best part!!! The destined battle between the time traveling magical girl Emo-Chan and her greatest enemy, Adolf Hitler.
Also, I unironically love the take you made on emo magical girl. Outside of the context, of, uh, Nazi Germany, I think the power of "deep emotional trauma blade" is just genuinely the funniest thing I've read in a while. It's like shoots beam that gives you anxiety level funny to me.
Also, I was 100% on board during the first paragraph. Not just for a laugh, but genuinely just intrigued to see where it was going. Don't you know this is meant to be bad writing? (Seriously though, great job!)
Oh trust me, I'll be spamming the instance with my pictures like a proud parent with a child. I was inspired by finding this website that documents the different dyes different eucalyptus trees can make. Gorgeous browns and greens galore. I absolutely want to post my adventures into spinning and yarn for each step.
Beware. Drum carders come PRICY. They last for life though. I'm going to get into it, but I'm looking into dying (and making my own plant based dyes from my own garden!!)
Edit: not the only way to process wool though. Processing raw fleece is a lot of work from what I've read up on it. World of wool is probably your best bet.
I'm going to stay on beehaw where at least they require an application to join. We need smaller and more spread out communities anyway to avoid astroturfing.

Welcome to the first (unofficial) Bad Writing Prompt day of the Beehaw Writing instance!
I've been reading a bit on the instance, and I agree with the consensus that we're going to need something weekly to bring and keep a community together. So I'm doing my part!
Wait, what do you mean by bad writing prompts? Partially inspired by this post here.
