Anyone managing to read? If so, #WhatchaReading ? After many a yawning DNF, I was so relieved to be engaged by New Adult romance A Guy Like Him by Amanda Gambill. (On KU.) Could've used some editing,
  • @willaful @romancebooks “How to be a Normal Person” by TJ Klune. I really enjoyed this one. The writing was hilarious. The main characters were adorkable. Even inanimate objects are practically characters. I read it after a friend sent me the attached quote. 😀

  • #WhatchaReading ? I finished Every Time I fall by Lexi Ryan. TBH, I had intended not to read her again, because the last book was anti-abortion, but I could not resist the gorgeous fat woman on the
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I’m in the middle of “Red Heir” by Lisa Henry and Sarah Honey which I would describe as an incredibly funny Dungeons and Dragons adventure with a slow burn MM romance. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

  • #WhatchaReading ? I should be doing so many other things, but I can't tear myself away from The Billionaire's Wake-Up-Call Girl. Really fun and... *fans self*. I'm hoping it will justify the arrogant
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I was finally able to start Old Time Religion by EH Lupton. I also finished it fairly quickly because it is an excellent book with a great balance of romance and plot with a couple established in the previous book. And the unique setting (1970/Wisconsin/with magic) definitely sets it apart.

  • #WhatchaReading ? I read A Mother for Christmas, a kindle freebie. A bit mawkish, but I can't say I wasn't warned by the title. The prose was quirky and had some personality to it. Could have used
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I just read “The 24 Dares of Christmas” which was a kindle freebie from stuff your ereader day. It was pretty much exactly as promised: a Christmas Hallmark movie with steam. 😀

  • #WhatchaReading ? I'm still sniffling after finishing Stars in Your Eyes by Kacen Callender. Painful but beautifully tender and hopeful m/m romance that explores how abuse and trauma can negatively
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I loved Lincoln, the MMC. I’m a Computer Engineer and I’m the only person in my book club who wasn’t calling him a loser. I was just hoping he’d end up with someone else. 😀

Beth (the FMC) completely lost me when she told her friend that she was partially at fault for her miscarriage.

  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks My local bookclub just read “Attachments” by Rainbow Rowell. One of the most unromantic romances novels I have ever read. It’s got an interesting premise (IT guy falls for a colleague after reading all her emails that keep getting flagged) but the FMC had few redeeming qualities (literally a stalker who had a live-in boyfriend for most of the book) and it went off the rails.

  • [\#WhatchaReading](https://romancelandia.club/tags/WhatchaReading) ? I just finished Dionysus in Wisconsin and I'd feel a little delicate about mentioning it since the author is on this instance, but
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I’m reading “I Went on an Adventure and All I Got Was This Barbarian Orc” by Jennifer Cody. It’s a hilarious and silly D&D campaign with some romance. The books are cheap and short.I’m enjoying them. (Disclaimer: I still play D&D with my college buddies even though I am now over 40 😀).

  • [\#WhatchaReading](https://romancelandia.club/tags/WhatchaReading) ? There's nothing like a really good audiobook for making my work get done. Two loads of laundry and a lot of gardening done, thanks
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I’m finally listening to Spare by Prince Harry (16 hours!!). He does a good job of reading it. And the ghostwriter is very talented. I will definitely run out of housework before I run out of book. 😀

  • [\#WhatchaReading](https://romancelandia.club/tags/WhatchaReading) ? I read The Amazing Alpha Tau Boyfriend Project by Lisa Henry, which was very fun, but also made me uncomfortable in a way I find ha
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks “The Trouble with Trying to Date a Murderer” by Jennifer Cody. This book is BONKERS. It’s set in a universe that I can only describe as “Paranormal John Wick.” If you want “realism”, this is not the book for you. If you want a hilarious paranormal M/M romance grounded in absolutely zero reality, I recommend it!

  • [\#WhatchaReading](https://romancelandia.club/tags/WhatchaReading) ? I DNF'd His Improper Proposal by Aydra Richards; really didn't like the uneven power dynamic between the two main characters, and t
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I’m in the middle of “The Unlikely Heir” by Jax Calder. Not usually a fan of books about modern royalty, but I like the author so I gave it a shot. So far I have been very entertained!

(Due to a big Royal scandal, an obscure dude 11th in line for the throne is suddenly the new Prince of Wales and he’s falling for the Prime Minister)

  • [\#WhatchaReading](https://romancelandia.club/tags/WhatchaReading) ? I'm halfway through the audio of Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall and what seems to be the big climactic moment has happened. Is there
  • @willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks Just finished “Today Will Be Different” by Maria Semple for my local book club. Did not enjoy it. It was stressful to read and basically about a day in the life of a really mean woman and horrible parent who makes zero personal growth so at the end you’re like “so….what was the point?”

It’s supposed to be funny, but between the homophobia and fat shaming, I found it to just be horrifying.
