#WhatchaReading ? I'm halfway through the audio of Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall and what seems to be the big climactic moment has happened. Is there going to be five hours just of people having sex now?
@willaful@romancelandia@romancebooks Just finished “Today Will Be Different” by Maria Semple for my local book club. Did not enjoy it. It was stressful to read and basically about a day in the life of a really mean woman and horrible parent who makes zero personal growth so at the end you’re like “so….what was the point?”
It’s supposed to be funny, but between the homophobia and fat shaming, I found it to just be horrifying.
I'm on hiatus before starting Cryptonomicon after nomming through Quicksilver + The Confusion + The System of the World - not for the first time. I've found this series to be better paced than Stephenson's other work, which tends to be like a roller coaster (fast, unpredictable, exciting, over quickly).
