That was wild.
Thunderstorms in the afternoon after a hot day I understand and grew up with.
Thunderstorms in the morning always get me on edge....
I think they may sit pat and do nothing.
Too much chop/uncertainty in too many markets because USA.
If this is an ad, I don't know what to think.....
Your puny gates cannot stop the power of the great one! I am a righteous GIANT! Who already paid for their shit anyways....
Legally, I believe it would fall under the tort of false imprisonment. You can search for that in your state.
Dunno if it's just me, just the area or something else, but the white/sulphur crested cockatoos have been annoying the hell out of me lately.
Their constant shrieking and squawking is driving me nuts. Not to mention they decide they hate one random tree or bush and just shred it to hell.
Is this my new normal? Is it seasonal? Will they go away and leave me the hell alone?
Toss the keys and just walk away....
Sorry, no, he meant there are no checks -as in bank checks- because all the balances -as in account balances- are now zero after all the money has now disappeared.
So, literally, no checks and balances.
"When contacted for comment, surprisingly, both Labor and Liberal were in exact agreement, stating that there was no fake news in Australia, and that if there was, it only came from another party and definitely not from their party."
Exactly!

Hmmmm. RDA is 1.7mg.

Holy crap.
- the circumstances where I would not stop a car to allow another passenger to pee would be extreme. Like 'we have to save the world' type of situation
- the number of times I would think 'I should record this guy's junk' is zero
- the number of times I've ever thought 'I should share a post of this guy's junk' is also zero
I'm just not cut out to be a cop
Chucked a baguette, a stick of butter and a couple of cloves out on the road, and got a proper beautifully toasted garlic bread after 5 minutes.
Got it in before the cool change, hail and rain arrived ;)
It's so hot today, I'm not gonna cook anything.
I'm getting one of the frozen spaghetti's I made in a big batch, and just gonna suck on it like a huge popsicle.
Yeah, nice cool change/storm expected this afternoon.
Forecast says a 10 degree drop between 2pm and 5pm, and 22 by 8pm :D
Gonna be hot as tomorrow.
Be cool, people!
No, they said it was Felicity in chocolate
Sheesh!
Snicko sacked. Hotspot hopeful of recall.
After a series of controversial performances, Snicko has been sacked.
Hotspot has been waiting in the wings, and is hopeful he we be called up as the replacement.
7 Plus lol
It's hysterical that I can't watch the main cricket channel on 7plus. I just get the red circle going round and round.
But if I switch to the Hindi channel, it's perfect.
Needless to say, with India at 6/73, the Hindi commentators are a little subdued, but still make more sense than Ponting and co.
Penrith or Melbourne?
So, who are you supporting for the Grand Final?
I can't make my mind up.
I don't want Penrith to win again. I hate dynasties, and I think it's better for the game when teams rise and fall. It's one of the benefits of a salary cap.
But I don't like Melbourne, because of their historical rorting of the salary cap, ruining multiple seasons of the NRL. And the whole introduction of wrestling manoeuvres into footy. A lot of their game seems to be based on cheating or exploiting weaknesses in rukes rather than playing in the spirit of the game.
Or do I just barrack for the referee, touchies and video reviewers?

BMWs, Mercs spray painted. Strike force set up.
A new strike force has been created to target a number of cases of luxury cars being painted in Sydney's inner suburbs.
I thought maybe someone was marking cars that had been highlighted on Dashcam Owners Australia, but apparently not....
Thank God resources have been allocated for a strike force! One poor victim got the paint off with WD40, but the trauma will last forever!
Four Corners - Don't speak
On Four Corners tonight (check your local guides):
Channel Seven bills itself as a family network, but a Four Corners investigation finds it to be a "second chance club" for senior men, described as a "degrading, soul-crushing" workplace.
Expect the attacks on the ABC to intensify .....
CrowdStrike impact on aussie.zone?
Sorry if this has been asked/answered previously, but it just struck me that I hadn't really noticed any impacts of CloudStrike on aussie.zone.
Was wondering if it was a non-event, or maybe there are some war stories with heroes deserving medals!
Man and child dead after tragic train accident
Emergency services were called to Carlton Railway Station on Sunday following reports a pram carrying two children had rolled onto the tracks from the platform.

- Angus Crighton like a runaway tank
- even Trell looking like a footy player again
- Liam Martin, clean it up. Grubby all night.
- Used to think DCE was overrated, now I think he may be underrated...
The traditional 1-1 back to QLD for NSW to lose game 3 looks to be happening again....
old.reddit.com login redirects to www.reddit.com/login
I use old.reddit.com, and had trouble logging in from there today. "Too many redirects". I also use the Redirect to old.reddit.com extension. When I disabled that, the login link it now takes you to is https://www.reddit.com/login/. That, of course, takes you to www.reddit.com.
The old 'popup' login box has been removed. I also noticed that the in sub logins where they used to have username/password entry boxes have been removed.
More reddit enshitification to try and make us use their horrible UI.

Best Tomato Sauce/Ketchup?
Ok I have a confession to make. I often don't put tomato sauce on things that are expected required by Aussies to have tomato sauce. It's a shameful thing, and I don't want to talk about that.
But, sometimes I must have tomato sauce. The bottle is almost empty, and after upgrading my BBQ sauce and Mayo, surely there is a great bang for the buck tomato sauce.
Choice rated Community Co A Squeeze of Tomato Sauce, available from IGA, as number 1 in 2019 from a list of over 20 tomato sauces/ketchups.
Anyone tried this and can give me a recommendation and reasons on why I should try something else over this?
Ima have to apologise in advance for being a questioning beotch that expects a reference to a scientific study for every statement...after quoting Choice 🤣

Reports of electric vehicle fires might lead some people to fear the growing numbers of these vehicles will increase fire risk. In fact, replacing petrol and diesel vehicles is likely to reduce it.

I thought that the media was a little over the top with reporting every electric car fire.
Little did I realise just how blown out of proportion it was:
"...electric vehicle battery fires are rare. Indeed, the available data indicate the fire risk is between 20 and 80 times greater for petrol and diesel vehicles. "

Great little piece that hits a surprising range of emotions
Opposition climate and energy spokesperson had pointed to SMRs as a solution to Australia’s energy needs, but experts raise questions over price tag

So, it appears the first SMR project in the US was scrapped due to rising costs.
An Aussie SMR would take 10-15 years before even being online and we'd be the guinea pigs.
Perhaps it's time to pivot to technology already available and that can be implemented in the short term?
