How crucial are banking apps? Your experience with them vs. browser banking?
  • • Convenience, no need to waste time and car fuel going back and forth to the bank all week as i get a lot of cheques and i can just deposit straight after reception from my phone itself

    • Mine put new ones in all year round as its not really a bank, kind of the same but it's a "caisse populaire" in my language.

    • Not really. If they offer it to mobile, they'll offer it to computers always.

  • A web browser extension for accessing I2P network anonymously
  • I prefer opting for randomization over a deep quest for anonymity. I use various tools on different systems to randomize the aspects that are identifiable, and blocking what can analyze further, through firewall and network adblockers. I prefer to obfuscate rather than try to totally hide from everything.

  • A web browser extension for accessing I2P network anonymously
  • Misleading title. Using this with your day to day browser burns out any idea of anonymity.

If you want to be safe, make a bare bone Arch Linux VM and use this extension with GNU Icecat. Also change your DNS from your ISP to something like Quad9.

  • What is your set up? How do you use Jellyfin?
  • I have a Arch Linux server running Jellyfin under my desk, attached to 2x 4To NAS HDD with smb shares on it for my wifes work so she can share between her pc and iphone, and i got the jellyfin app on my iphone and appletv so we can watch anything anywhere in the house whenever we like

  • Do you think people would be okay with 'Recall' if Apple did it?
  • Swift, Webkit, Researchkit, Carekit, FoundationDB, CUPS, Darwin, LLVM and Clang, SwiftNIO, Turi Create, Homekit ADK,

Its one thing to be against a product but its essential to be well informed and not base our perceptions on biased informations.

  • Do you think people would be okay with 'Recall' if Apple did it?
  • Makes a lot of sense until the closed source affirmation. The source code of the OS they develop is closed source, but a lot of what they do is open source and independantly audited by experts, so there's that in the balance.

Windows is just a pile of trash.

  • 42 key points of the secret #EUGoingDark surveillance plan for the new EU Commission
  • This simply won't work and the implications and risks are too great to allow such a blasphemy. If a backdoor is built in every device, how do you guarantee the security ? This means anyone with enough skills and knowledge can abuse these types of backdoors.

This would set a very dangerous and dystopian precedent.

r/UFOs is being attacked with a disinformation campaign.

In the seriousness of all that's happening now, i feel like we should start posting serious and informative content here, as it seems to be off the radar for now.

Thoughts ? I will open the show and start posting/mirroring actual information from the sub, here.
