Fear of cheap Chinese EVs spurs automaker dash for affordable cars
  • Not that we should have the contracts and control a country like that, but I'd like to think there could have been a win/win. Would have been nice to have a friendly and supported Iraq, on its way to healing some, at the end of the day.

Overall, a failure of US leadership on all fronts. Any positive results may have just been a bridge too far in the minds of politicians and rallying the public just not worth it for them. Silly.

  • Get out and vote!
  • Hey, chin up. If the batshit nuts right wing of the GOP keep going the way they are maybe we'll get a brand spanking new fascist third party. Lol, third party achieved!

Tangent for a moment: I'm kind of curious, if we could somehow encourage more stupidity on the right. Perhaps, the GOP would fracture into two parties.

In the short term, it could give Dems a large say in everything. Bolstered by the fact that the hard right is very performative and not really interested in doing any real work. In the more medium term, maybe that would finally give some freedom to open the door for more Dems and voters to peel off into yet another party.

I guess at that point, the danger is the right would then realize the situation. Rally their fractured party and completely ice out Dems and whatever left party that came out of the above. Multipolar politics at the party level could get really freaking scary too.

  • Should we believe Americans when they say the economy is bad?
  • Oh, so I will get to retire? Neat.

COVID highlighted a good bit of futility and pointlessness. As a well as a feeling of being locked in a cage with 30-40% of the country that's just insane

So I guess it is rosey now for someone. Probably won't hold and I know people who have personally suffered a nervous breakdown, without adequate care, as a result. People are fucking tired.

And let's not even get started on climate change and the future for our children given how pathetic people acted during an acute crisis.

  • Enabling WiFi through Ubuntu Touch on Pinetab2?

Struggling a bit to get any wi-fi network to show up through Ubuntu Touch on the Pinetab2. Am I missing something?

Wi-Fi is toggled on and flight mode is off.

Why is such a tunnel needed?
  • Maybe canines? Idk

I just think it would be dope to drive under as a dramatic fight between an elk and wolves tumbled off the side onto my vehicle. Killing all of us instantly. What a way to go!

  • Car dealers say they can’t sell EVs, tell Biden to slow their rollout
  • As I understand it, the $7.5k isn't any EV, but EVs that were assembled/built primarily in the US. Many weren't compliant with that legislation. Not out of spite or anything, but because manufacturing wasn't quite ready to comply. That led to a number of vehicles sitting ineligible for the 7.5k break. As well as consumer confusion over which ones could be discounted. Overall, a transitional growing pain for a crappy industry that relies on monthly sales.

  • Share your everyday workhorse headphone/iem!

I have a collection of headphones and iems that is probably unhealthy, but we are not here to talk about that. Instead, I came into work and realized I've been using the same KZ-zs10 pros for a few years of zoom (has a mic on the wire), music, and whatever else at work with no complaint.

Given all the other options out there, or that I own, it surprises me that such a humble iem has performed so well. Which brings me to my question: what is your old reliable? Your everyday workhorse? What headphone or iem do you reach for over and over again?
