LineageOS 21 now officially supports Chromecast with Google TV (4K)
  • Only works if you haven't updated it since the February 2021 update. You also would lose the actual built in Chromecast feature.

Cool but I don't really see why you would do it on this device when you can just flash android to a raspberry pi or something and have basically the same thing at that point.

  • Steam Deal: Does anyone know when the next sale for Persona 5 Royal will be?
  • Summer sale is June 27th. I would expect it to go on sale then. You can also keep an eye on deal.gg and see if you can get a key elsewhere. Buy at your own risk though as most of the sites on there are key resellers with unknown origin how they got them.

  • Pi-hole setup help
  • Based on the hardware you have, if you're able to install it on one of the routers, I know that OpenWRT can set DNS on a per device basis with it's DHCP server.

My personal suggestion is to use a PFSense device as there is an option for per device DNS settings, along with a lot of other options that you might want to mess with if your trying to learn some networking

  • How stable are Win11 hardware check bypasses?
  • It's very easy to bypass the requirements. Just search "how to bypass Windows 11 install requirements".

I've installed it on a a handful of machines that didn't meet the requirements and haven't had any issues with them other than one not being able to launch a game because the anti cheat needed newer TPM 2.0

  • I really hope this is true. I know Yuzu will be pretty safe when it comes to finding it in the future, even if it's not "official".

That being said, what really worries me is emulation for the next gen switch and if anyone will be willing to attempt to create it, and if not what will happen when it comes to preservation of that console.

  • How well does the raspberry pi handle being a moonlight client
  • I can't speak on moonlight specifically on the pi 4, but it running steamlink on wasn't bad on it, so I can't imagine it's would be any worse than that for moonlight.

Wired Nvidia shield TV has been my best experience when it comes to both moonlight and steam link out of all of the devices I've tried it with.

  • Pixel facing storage issue with January 2024 Google Play update
  • There's an option called Screen Protector Mode that ups the sensitivity on the touch screen. That might help you hopefully?

You can plug in a mouse with the adapter that came with the phone to get around the touch screen not working temporarily to change the option.

  • Monster Hunter Rise, End of collab DLC, won't be able to download after Jan 21, 2024
  • The base game (to access these quests) is $40 for a brand new copy. It's only $20 if you get a used copy.

These DLCs event quests are also free to download.

Still sucks they are being removed, but these were minor free 3rd party event quests to begin with.

  • Monster Hunter Rise, End of collab DLC, won't be able to download after Jan 21, 2024
  • Although I don't like this either, I did see some misinformation going around in some other comments.

All of these quests that are being removed were free DLC event quests and did not cost any extra to play. It still sucks that it's being removed, but its not like people are losing content they paid for either.

If you really want to experience this content, the game is $20 from GameStop. You can download these quests basically as soon as you start the game.

If you can't afford it, emulation and the PC version both have very easily accessible save editors where you can unlock these quests/cosmetics if it's means that much to you.

Or just don't buy the game at all if that's too much extra work for you., I highly recommend it though if you can get it. Easily my most played game of 21-22 :)

  • Using external SSD drive via USB 3.0, is it worth it?
  • I have 2 SATA SSDs I use via an USB adapter externally and have never had an issue.

Technically SATA is faster at 6 gigabyte compared to USB 3.0 at 5 gigabyte. That being said USB 3.1 or newer is faster than SATA.

How if we're talking nvme, internal drives are basically always going to be faster than a USB adapter.

  • So how is the steamdeck output to TV in 1080p?
  • I use mine docked fairly frequently. No major issues that I've had. Just note that if you change the games resolution to higher than the steam decks native screen, you'll sacrifice framerate for it.

  • Zimaboard 832 Transcoding Performance

Any users out there with a Zimaboard? I'm wondering how video transcoding performance is on the device for Plex/Emby/Jellyfin/etc. The CPU supports quicksync, but I haven't been able to find anything on how the actual performance of it is.
