  • A lot of what you're saying lines up with the political concept of cultural revolution! In China during theirs' they had programs to have students go out from their social circles and into the countryside to build solidarity with the workers and peasants and solidify a connection to the masses. Here's a good video on it!

  • Marxist-Leninist-Maoist. Simply, it's the most proven and current mode of Marxist organization that addresses the pitfalls of past revolutions (revisionism, over-bureaucratic, erosion of the democratic rule of the masses' party) while maintaining the revolutionary line abandoned by revisionist states at some point in their existence (China, USSR, Nepal pretty recently). It recognizes that the masses make history and even outright calls for attacks on the parties' headquarters from the masses should they rest on their laurels too heavily and abandon the revolutionary struggle. It has active revolutions globally, namely in the Philippines and India currently. These revolutions are developing and have done a lot of really great things in countries that have historically been extremely reactionary (the New Peoples Army officiated the first gay wedding in the Philippines!)

I am open to any questions because a big part of MLM is Criticism, self criticism, and unity! For my anarchist friends here may I recommend this video! It's a really good and non-antagonistic video about how we might have a little more in common than you'd think! :)

  • A Summation of the Red Guards and CR-CPUSA - Politics In Command (An extremely flawed and rightist take on a terrible failure in the US Maoist movement.)

A Summation of the Red Guards and CR-CPUSA - Politics In Command

This video covers the rise and fall of the red guards (later known as the CR-CPUSA) from the perspective of an anonymous former member. This former member, like a lot of the old movement, failed to understand the trappings of the old lumpen leadership and instead blamed the collapse on "Gonzoloism" This move was extremely damaging to the movement, and mislead hundreds about the nature of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism by only further tying those who purported Gonzalo thought in name only to the lumpen gangsterism of the cliquish old leaders and, instead of a restructuring, completely liquidated the CR-CPUSA. Read "The Collapse" for a thorough, if not slightly biased chronicle of this collapse.

Declaring Gonzalo thought "Revisionist" within the first 10 minutes should be enough to prove to you the right-deviationism of the hosts and their guest, who later goes on to completely disregard the peoples war in Peru and, contradictorily, claims that the CPP were somehow "good Maoists" while simultaneously "distorting Maoism". Their guest further explains the over-militarization of the old movement, pinning it again onto "Gonzaloism" and not the mistakes of the old leadership. They again contradict themselves when they say later on they didn't fully understand what militarization is.

This cannot be perceived as anything but right-deviationist revisionism that aims to defer the revolutionary path of Maoism as a developing science in favor of an almost Trotskyite adherence to some orthodox "Maoism" that is not Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. This needs to be debated, combatted, and disproved. And if any comrades have questions, feel free to let them be known.

With feedback from the community and internal discussion I present the final iteration of the new Mlem icon!
  • It’s a 3D model so I don’t see why not. It’s not at the top of the list but definitely something I’m gonna work on from the art end of things

  • Good morning comrades! How do you think the communist city will look in the future?

What infrastructure do you think is the most communist? Human centered? Industry centered? Something else? What needs to be transformed in modern capitalist society to get to that point? And, most importantly, why are trains so awesome?

I personally think the communist city is not as centralized, instead spread out over the world in mid rise multi family blocks surrounded by farms (as common property using local crops along with whatever a citizen may want to grow should they acquire the seeds and means to care for them) and automated industry running on clean energy like fusion. I think the decentralization of the city re-enforces the masses and communism as whole. This, I think, also doesn’t really need cars. Once the city is totalizing and fully realized it would be a failure of infrastructure to not have easy and reliable public transportation like rail.

Essentials of Maoism 03: The Origin of Maoism

Episode 3 of this great series I’m posting here daily. This one covers the evolution of the science up to its latest development into Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, being preceded by Marxism-Leninism and Marxism before that.

Good morning comrades! How would you define “revisionism”

In as simple or complex terms as you’d like. I have always described it as a “Deviation from the revolutionary line for purpose of capitalization, consolidation, or destruction of the Mass line in favor of the party bourgeois, landholders, etc” and a fundamental abandonment of scientific socialism in favor of pragmatic adoption of anti-socialist policy that does not lay the groundwork for communism.

There are, however, retreats back while remaining on the socialist road. In the USSR the NEP was used to maintain the socialist road after the civil war in a time of crisis (as opposed to the capitalist roading in the CCP on the back of steady economic, poltical and population growth during the GPCR), which still remains on the socialist road. The revolutionary line is still upheld and the contradictions of state are still resolved by a party of the proletariat.

Do you disagree? Have something to add? Let me know! Just remember to keep it civil and principled.

How has ur lemmy experience been so far?
  • I think it’s awesome. It’s the first time in a whole I’ve been on “new” social media and it’s bringing back a lot of feelings I thought were dead since the internet became so centralized

  • What games do you break?
  • Ultrakill is one of my favorites because to S rank you need to break the mechanics. Levels and boss fights that took me hours after a few tries take me minutes at most because you go from fighting on a relatively fair field to exploiting every weapon in your arsenal to absolutely wreck your opponent. Im talking stun-locks, traps, and exploits to take a big bad from a threat to an obstacle in the way of your run to the tune of 15 seconds. I love it :P

  • What's everyone's favorite bread?
  • Sourdough. By far. I even like the fake stuff from Kroger. I could probably eat it for every meal if that wouldn’t kill me in a matter of weeks

  • Why are you a communist?

For me: It is simply love. Love of my neighbors and my friends, and the love of the masses. I am also a very realistic person, so I understand the necessity of the masses leading a future of wealth and prosperity, as opposed to the few,

Why are you? No wrong answers.

Activist Study / Araling Aktibista (ARAK)

"The Activist Study (Araling Aktibista), or ARAK as it’s known, is part of the required study for activists in the Filipino revolutionary movement. The study includes Mao Zedong’s Five Golden Rays, along with lessons on Revolutionary Study and Analysis, the Mass Line, and Democratic Centralism and the Committee System–all essential texts for studying and forming revolutionary practice." - Foreign Languages Press

  • Mercenaries taking their employers hostage? A tale as old as… well- as long as there’s been mercenaries.

  • Tell us about unpopular games you love, or even just appreciate some aspects of, contrary to the inteenet hivemind?
  • If we’re talking unpopular as in not very well known outside of its immediate community I gotta say Ultrakill. It’s a retro shooter distilled to its most essential parts with a style meter tied into it. It’s like ballet… with shotguns and exploding demons- so not a lot like ballet. But it’s good! Buy it!

  • What do you game on?
  • I have a PC and a Nintendo Switch I swore I was gonna use when TOTK until giving myself a heaping backlog to get through on my pc before I start a new game anywhere- so the switch gathers dust still.

  • what videogame do you have the most hours in?
  • Tf2 is up there for me as well! Funny thing is I only started getting good at it in the last year or so. And I’ve been playing since 2012 lol
