Seriously, where do I go?
  • I am both surprised and not that I got Denver, CO. I've been told before by someone that they initially thought I was from there the first time we met.

  • What games did you have a good time with that you just never finished?
  • Subnautica. I always have so much fun exploring and crafting things, but then for one reason or another I end up putting it aside. By the time I get back to it, I've forgotten how to play so I end up starting a new game, only for the cycle to repeat. One of these days I'll finish it!

  • Vibe check: What are your impressions and experiences of Lemmy, Kbin, Mbin, and Beehaw?
  • I think lemmy.world is letting kbin interact with them again. It was on 'read only' about a week ago, where kbin could see stuff being posted from lemmy, but anything being posted or down/upvoted from kbin wasn't going anywhere. But I noticed today that some kbin users were able to successfully post to lemmy again. Though, I don't know if that means the problem is fixed or not.

  • Vibe check: What are your impressions and experiences of Lemmy, Kbin, Mbin, and Beehaw?
  • kbin (at least kbin.social) has a nice little community, but we're holding on by a thread over there since we've been overrun with spammers and nothing is really being done to combat it. A good chunk of people have jumped ship because of it, but we're still trying to fight where we can.

I made an mbin alt, but I haven't really hung out enough here to get a proper feel of it. Honestly it feels like looking through a window to the rest of the fediverse. If there's any chill mbin (edit) instances magazines, I'd love to know!

Beehaw seems to have the most positive vibes, and I really like that. It seems small, but they're pretty active. I mainly enjoy their gaming community.

I think I interact the most with Lemmy, but that's probably because that's where most active instances are. You'll get a lot more different takes on there than anywhere else, some great, some not so great, but that comes with any site where you bring a bunch of people together.

Of course, these are from my experience and opinion. I'm interested to see others' takes.

  • Remedy Makes Changes to Core Management Team, Wants to Grow Alan Wake and Control into Larger Franchises
  • This is what I'm worried about. I love Alan Wake 1 & 2 and Control, and I'm looking forward to the latter's sequel, but I just keep thinking, how far can this go before it's either way out in left field or rehashing the same plot points?

  • Advocacy groups say Texas inmates are 'being cooked to death' in state prisons without air conditioning
  • ikr, it's a horrible situation, but this article seems to come out every year around this time.

  • What are you using AI (ChatGPT, Perplexity AI) for in your daily routine?
  • I've been using Google's Gemini to write cover letters for job applications. Just plug in the job description, do a little proofreading and tweaking, and boom. It's made the process so much easier for "personalized" cover letters.

  • Bethesda Quietly Removes Denuvo DRM from Ghostwire: Tokyo
  • That's how I got around to playing it recently too. I spent way more time than I should have wandering around just looking at stuff.

  • What is a song that you absolutely despised and now like?
  • That's ok. Different people have different tastes! Tbh the band is kind of generic in general, but that hasn't stopped them from worming their way into my ears lol.

  • What is a song that you absolutely despised and now like?
  • Mine's just a band in general; Motionless in White has been growing on me after I've been putting them off for so long. Their cover of "Somebody Told Me" is fun.

  • We're Having a Staring Contest
  • I always do πŸ˜”

  • How is your week starting?
  • I've been rooting for Cody Rhodes to win Wrestlemania on Sunday, and he did. Plus with a (very brief) appearance by The Undertaker, my favorite wrestler. I was in the path of totality for the eclipse yesterday, so I go to see it. It was pretty freakin cool. Today is nice, dark, and rainy, my favorite kind of weather. Between those three, I'm in an excellent mood.

  • Lemmers, you just bumped to your high-school bully. What would you say to him (or her)?
  • Nothing. Until he returns the 200 dollars he stole, I am holding onto that grudge.

  • What's the best sandwich in the world?
  • I love me a grilled cheese and turkey sandwich. Simple, but comforting. Although, turkey based sandwiches in general are a food weakness for me.

  • [Weekly thread] What are your plans for the week-end? 22-03-2024
  • I'm virtually meeting up with some friends to catch up. Other than that, just lounging around.

  • Which games that were reviewed poorly did you actually like?
  • Man, Postal 2 is such a great time. I always start out with the best intentions of being "good", but by the Wednesday level I'm robbing the bank and breaking into every house that I can.

  • "John Wayne" by Whiskey Myers

    From the album 'Tornillo'.

    1
    Favourite developers
  • Remedy Entertainment. From Max Payne 1 & 2, to Alan Wake 1 & 2, to Quantum Break, to Control, there has not been a game from them that I've played that hasn't been absolutely fantastic. They have not failed to miss so far.

  • As more developers confirm, it looks likely that ALL Adult Swim Games titles will be removed by May
  • Man, between this and various shows/movies getting removed from streaming, it is so frustrating to see.

  • Besides Linux isos and piracy, what are some common uses of torrenting?
  • I torrent old out of print books that I can't find anywhere else. The scans are usually pretty good. There was also a podcast I used to listen to called Caustic Soda. When they ended it, they released all of their episodes through torrenting so the fans could have them.
