it's definitively fast on my installation. Might I suggest looking at the log level and making sure it's not set to INFO or DEBUG? That's what was holding my instance back.
I can confirm the Intel version of the Framework 13 works amazingly with an eGPU (Fedora). 11th gen was my daily driver until I upgraded to a Framework 16 😎

You can activate episodic content as you like and jump around between seasons. It's tied to the expansion so you buy it = you get the content. This is mostly story but some features / horizontal progression is locked until you complete it. I prefer that over the "you needed to be there when it was free now you have to pay" approach.
For what it's worth they're not doing that anymore.
In all fairness my mental health IS better since I've moved to Linux.
