Federation with <0.19.1 Instances - updated by u/lodion
Usually I post to slrpnk.net and they are currently on 0.18.5. None of my posts/comments (2 posts, 1 comment) are federating.
Just letting you know if anyone here is posting to non-updated instances, it's possible they aren't going through. Yet completely possible they are. Who knows with this federation business.
I'm going to go to the Winchester Engadine Maccas, grab a schooner shit my pants and wait for this to all blow over.
Or maybe one wouldn't even notice since engagement can sometimes be low. Like yelling into the void or talking to yourself on the toilet.
When we did our US trip, one thing that really stood out was dunny etiquette.
Dudes will happily carry on a phone conversation as they walk in to the toilet, take a dump, wipe and flush, optionally wash their hands (seriously it is gross how many people use there dunny without washing their hands afterwards), then leave without interrupting their conversation at all.
I don't know how good noise cancelling is on phones now but I find it hard to believe none of the splashes and kerplunks didn't make it to the other side of the conversation.
I've made an account application on their site to try and contact them. Going to be very sad if my posts to slrpnk get blackholed :( I don't know where else I can find soil people.
It seems to have stopped again. The newest post on the Melbourne community is from boxing day, for example, with the newest comment being from about 10 o'clock, with Federation state showing up as "dead".
This appears to be a known issue, with one community implementing a possible workaround here, by using a query to set the values on updated column to now(), forcing lemmy to reload which communities were considered dead, and which weren't.
