It's a great pity this game will be exclusive to the Switch. I have a Steam Deck and would like the game to be available through the Steam Store. I heard great things about it but didn't get a chance to play the original on the SNES.
Well, there are ways. You could buy a switch copy if it makes you feel better.

I wonder why they never continued to use any of the characters like Mallow.
The character rights are shared with square enix
Maybe that the reason, but i would imagine, it wouldn't be impossible to gt the rigts for the characters. It is known that miyamoto doesn't like new created characters in mario games
Mallow and Geno both have been in Smash, so I can't imagine they are locked down tight or anything.
