How large will the internet/cultures become when AI can seamlessly live translate all forms of media?

Think about how much more content you would have access too if every piece of media was in your preferred language. You could be conversing with anyone around the world at any time. It wouldn’t happen immediately, but over time people would filter into different communities around the internet. Bringing with them their own cultures, ideologies and memes. It would have a rather profound impact on the world, I think it would finally achieve that early internet dream of truly connecting the world.

It would probably align with time zones. North and South America would intermingle way more, Europe and Africa, Asia and Australia, India would be empowered. Of course all the countries and continents that have a range of languages would be altered too, probably even more strongly. In the long term it would have a significant impact on geopolitics, particularly once we can talk in person with live translation.
