And the picture they used is not just white background, but the icons and edit text are blue and text is black. Where is the grey? I call false advertisement.
I've been against bluesky since I heard they're invite only. It just won't work, maybe future proves me wrong (as it usually does) but I just cannot physically believe in it.
There's way better and bigger alternatives already (Mastodon, hello?). Mastodon's federated as well. Everything I've known so far that was invite only really didn't go far.
But I don't know anything else about bluesky other than it's a Twitter alternative and invite-only currently, so tell me if I'm wrong? (Obligatory :3)
From the article 'Rather, explains Newman, Bluesky was appealing because it’s simply a better Twitter.'
Can someone explain this to me? The article does not. It all seems like garbage to me, vanilla swirl maybe instead of straight vanilla, but still tastes like crap. This release is specifically not decentralized.
Dorsey is a shitbag, always has been, why is this better?
Bsky.social isn't federated yet, but they do have a federation sandbox for developers. I don't think they want to put federation into the production server just yet.
IIRC there's also servers waiting for federation, I've heard there's a Russian Atproto server.
