This is one of the biggest bugs in Destiny history.
Destiny 2 has one of the worst — and most hilarious — bugs in its history right now, allowing players to create guns with perks that are game-breaking in activities or PvP. Players can put shotgun frames on auto rifles, resulting in a weapon that obliterates someone in PvP in milliseconds due to the hugely reduced time to kill. Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, says it’s working on a fix.
Lean into it Bungie...let that shit run wild for a few weeks.
This is literally the biggest and most game-breaking bug the franchise has ever seen. No contest.

Only two ways I can see them cleaning this up is deleting/altering the weapons, which people are guaranteed gonna get pissy about, or roll back the servers, which people are guaranteed gonna be VERY pissy about.

It looks like their plan is to reset any affected weapons once they've got the fix ready.

I don't know how they get around a full reset. A wild Crucible weekend is one thing, but people are clearing end-game challenges and triumphs with this. They'd have to reset weapons, reset triumphs, reset titles, reset gildings, reset quest progress, reset inventories, reset collections, etc etc etc
Or they just reset weapons and let everything else stand, in which case CAN YOU IMAGINE THE SALT
I'm kind of frustrated, and almost about ready to bust out my PS4 to try this glitch because it's not working for me on PS5. I hate to say it, I even had to check Reddit to find some better tips on how to make this work.
Seems either I use my wifi, or mobile device to make this work. Because I've tried about an hour trying to get the Osteo Strega perk to glitch into an auto rifle or another SMG and it is not working.
