Hi guys, glad to see some fellow archers. I'm from Czech republic and mostly shooting with my longbow. Usually targets or 3D for fun. My favorite target is hay pack at this time of the year. There are lots of them around the fields so I like to go for a walk with a bow and practice different distances on those hay stacks around :) I'm looking for some new recurve bow this year.
I am shooting bare bow for around 1 year and have two bows.
My starter was a Galaxy Sage with #35 64” limbs from Southwest archery (my draw length is 29.5-30” and the stacking in the 63” limbs was bad).
I inherited a very nice #55 Great Plains Archery Rio Grande from my uncle (he’s not dead yet and does not want to go in the cart, but found out he is left eye dominate). Honestly I am over bowed with it but it is a pleasure to shoot.
Been loving it and am very happy to find a community to hang out with on Lemmy!
I recently retired from my country's national recurve team after ~5 years of training/conpeting, so I'm taking a vacation for now but I intend to continue shooting recreationally. I'm sure I will shoot some more Olympic recurve, but mostly I want to go back to shooting traditional, and try barebow too.
I'm from Canada, been shooting for about 6 months now. I have an Olympic recurve setup that I started with: Kinetic Arios riser, cheap 30# limbs, basic sight and stabilizers. My current favorite bow is a vintage 1994 Oneida AeroForce that I use for 3D and indoor target shooting.
