Je mets ça ici pour discuter de ce sujet, sachant que J-M Jancovici a pas mal la cote auprès des utilisateurs de cette communauté (ou au moins du subreddit r/france)
Leur argument principal semble être que les renouvelables coutent moins cher que le nucléaire, donc à investissement égal on peut faire plus de renouvelable que de nucléaire, donc il vaut mieux pas faire de nucléaire et que du renouvelable.
L'argument est recevable mais un peu simpliste je trouve. Ils n'abordent pas le fait que les renouvelables risquent de se retrouver face à une pénurie de matériaux avant de pouvoir fournir 100% des besoins électriques par exemple, ni les dégâts fait par l'industrie minière au nom de la transition énergétique.
Comme toujours il faut surtout privilégier la sobriété et une fois qu'on a limiter nos besoins, ne pas mettre tous les œufs dans le même panier me semble plus sage.
L'argument est recevable uniquement si on occulte tout le problème des renouvelables. C'est l'argument favori des anti-nucléaires, qui se base sur des études de LCOE (Levelized Cost Of Energy). Elles consistent grosso modo à tenter d'estimer le coût du cycle de vie d'une centrale électrique d'un certain type (nucléaire, solaire, éolienne, gaz, charbon...) en tenant en compte de plusieurs paramètres, comme le facteur de charge moyen, la durée prévue de fonctionnement moyenne, le coût du démantèlement moyen, etc.
Sauf qu'une centrale nucléaire, tu la construis sur un terrain vague, tu la branche au réseau, tu l'alimentes, tu l'entretiens, tu la démontes à la fin et finit. C'est simple à estimer les coûts, déjà parce qu'on en a déjà fait plein, et ensuite parce que la majorité du coût total, tu l'investis pour la construction.
Sauf que pour l'éolien ou du solaire, déjà le facteur de charge va changer selon où tu les places, ensuite plus on investit dedans plus ça risque de coûter plus cher que prévu en terrain et en ressources (surtout si pénurie) étant donné leur très faible densité énergétique.
Mais la plus grosse arnaque, c'est que les LCOE ne tiennent pas compte de la non-pilotabilité de l'éolien et le solaire :
C'est bien beau de calculer 15% de facteur de charge moyen sur l'année pour le solaire mais si tu produis la majeure partie de ton électricité en été alors que tes pics de consommation sont en hiver, eh bien la majeure partie de ta production sera gaspillée et inutile, et t'auras quand même des black-outs.
Alors la réponse habituelle à ce genre de critique, c'est "Oui mais on peut faire de la redondance, oui mais on peut faire des STEPs, oui mais on peut faire des batteries".
Ok, mais tout ça, d'une part c'est pas compté dans les LCOE, donc au final l'éolien et le solaire vont coûter plus cher que ce qui est prétendu, et ensuite on n'a tout simplement aucune idée de la faisabilité à l'échelle de nations, voire de continents, que ce soit en termes de ressources, d'espace utilisé, etc.
En conclusion, le nucléaire ce n'est pas simple, mais au moins on a la preuve que ça marche très bien, et on sait ce dans quoi on s'embarque.
et le fait qu'on en ait besoin maintenant et pas dans 10 ans ? il se demande que maintenant comment on va fabriquer les 8 promis par Macron. On demande aux chinois parce qu'on leur a tout vendu ?
J'ai l'impression que Jancovici fait la promotion du nucléaire pour ne pas éteindre le parc existant, mais aussi de diversifier dans l'EnR, et aussi de faire de la sobriété.
@france Je suis d'accord mais après la difficulté du nucléaire c'est l'eau. Et on en aura de moins en moins et donc il faut integrer un circuit d'eau fermé.
et la question des déchets n'est pas résolu. ça reste une immense dette qu'on devra entretenir pendant +1000 ans
D'autre part, la France n'a pas renouvellé son parc nucléaire et devra utiliser l'energie solaire ou éolien. Et ce serait bien qu'elle diversifie sa production.

Bref, ton argumentation est un peu plombée par cet exposé de la simplicité supposée du cycle de vie d'une centrale nucléaire !
Les besoins c'était y a 20 ans en fait. Mais le combat contre le nucléaire prime sur le reste apparemment.
En attendant l'Espagne et l'Allemagne qui ont parié sur les renouvelables depuis 20 ans ont toujours une énorme production de co2. Parce que le renouvelable seul ne marche simplement pas.
La solution des écolos ? On a qu'à moins utiliser d'électricité ! Tout plutôt que du nucléaire. Ça en devient ridicule.

C'était plus en référence à un strip de boulet qui explique que dans les films les super méchants ont toujours des noms super obvious de méchant avec "dark" ou "doom" dedans. Alors que lui si il devait faire un méchant il aurait l'air de monsieur tout le monde et il s'appellerait Mr Pichon. Ça et un peu Dofus aussi
C'est le problème qu'on retourne un peu partout j'ai l'impression.
Si on prend le coût de construction et d'entretien sur toute la durée de vie de la centrale (solaire, éolienne ou nucléaire) divisé par le nombre de kWh produit on obtient effectivement un coût inférieur pour le nucléaire.
Le problème de cette démarche c'est qu'elle part du principe qu'on ne consomme de l'électricité que quand elle est disponible.
Pour avoir une vision plus claire de la réalité il faudrait simuler heure par heure le prix de l'électricité. En faisant ça on se rendrait sûrement vite compte que même avec des systèmes de stockage il y aura toujours des périodes sans vent et sans soleil.
Du coup soit on brûle du fossile pendant ces périodes ce qui rend le renouvelable beaucoup moins vertueux comme en Allemagne soit les plus pauvres coupent leur compteur pendant ces périodes et les plus riches rackent ce qui n'est pas non plus vraiment désirable comme résultat.
Court et pas convaincant... Il y a plein de sources et graphiques qui montrent l'inverse.
Le nucléaire demande moins de matériaux, on est plus indépendant qu'avec le solaire ou éolien, et le cycle carbone est meilleur, et on a pas de problème d'intermittence, qui est pas un problème résolu par les enr.
C'est plus cher, mais honnêtement c'est pas le plus problématique quand on fait de l'écologie.
On ferait mieux d'investir massivement dans le nucléaire pour exporter un savoir faire, on se ferait beaucoup d'argent et ça permettrait aux autres pays de decarbonner.

Pardon ? On a lancé combien de projet de réacteurs en France de 1991 à 2021 ? Un seul. On raccordait 2 réacteurs par an dans les années 80. On a fait l'inverse d'investir dans le nucléaire depuis au moins 30 ans. On le laisse crever et on vit sur nos réserves depuis Tchernobyl.

EDF est en bénéf tous les ans de 2002 à 2021, alors que l'État lui inflige l'ARENH, des bébés pas rentables, et une gestion calamiteuse. On est sur de la désinformation pure et simple là.

Le scénario de RTE le moins coûteux est celui où l'on investit le plus possible dans le nucléaire.
L'Allemagne a lancé l'Energiewende il y a 20 ans, et n'arrivent à produire que 40% de leur électricité avec les EnRs et polluent le reste de l'Europe avec leur backup en charbon et en gaz, avec un puissance installée de 66GW à 20% de facteur de charge, donc 13GW de puissance en moyenne sur l'année. Et ils sont dépendants du gaz et du charbon.
20 ans après le début de la construction de la première centrale électrogène civile en France, Chinon A1/EDF1 en 1963, on avait construit et raccordé au réseau 22 réacteurs pour un total de 20GW avec un facteur de charge de 70%, donc 14GW de puissance en moyenne sur l'année.
Quand au prix, on estime que les Allemands ont balancé un trillion d'euros au bas mot dans l'Energiewende, alors que la cour des comptes française, dans son rapport de 2011, estime le coût du nucléaire civil français tout compris à 130-140 milliards d'euros entre 1960 et 2010.
et les ressources en uranium sont limités à 100 ans au train actuel.
Voir MOX, Superphénix, les réacteurs de 4 génération, etc. L'uranium n'est pas un problème.

On est contraint d'investir dans les EnR à cause de l'abandon du nucléaire par les politiques français depuis le début des années 90 pour atteindre nos objectifs pour 2050. Ça veut pas dire qu'on doit continuer à les soutenir une fois qu'on a relancé une cadence dans notre industrie nucléaire.

Une mauvaise foi et une désinformation incroyable. Je ne sais pas si tu es un chill ou juste mal informé et avec beaucoup de confiance en toi, mais voici les vrais chiffres :
Aujourd'hui on est largement exportateur, 82% de notre électricité est d'origine nucléaire, le reste c'est du suivi de charge. On note la production catastrophique du solaire (0,6GW pour 17GW installé) alors qu'on est en pleine canicule et de l'éolien (1,2GW pour 21GW installés).
On subvient entièrement à nos besoins et on en refile à nos voisins européens, comme quasi-tous les étés, donc on en profite pour faire nos maintenances et nos réparations. Le parc est dimensionné à nos besoins en hiver, il ne va jamais tourner à 100% en été. Tu pointes une évidence logique et tu prétends que c'est un défaut du nucléaire.
EDF est obligé de vendre de l'électricité en dessous du prix du marché pour qu'elle soit soit revendue par des gens qui font de l'électricité enr, j'ai pas envie de chercher un lien, mais ça a été dit par les ex PDG d'EDF.
On peut pas recycler les hélices d'éoliennes qui sont en fibre de verre, et le pv émet quatre fois plus que le nucléaire.

Je tique beaucoup sur cette phrase : "While renewables’ production is variable, their generation can be matched to demand by storing renewable electricity in the form of hydrogen, using batteries or pumped hydro."
Une seule phrase pour balayer d'un revers de la main le plus gros problème du renouvelable. On sent bien que ce ne sont pas des ingénieurs et qu'ils ont une préférence pour le renouvelable.
Par exemple, concernant le stockage hydro (on fait remonter de l'eau dans un barrage quand on produit trop d'électricité) :
ils ne parlent pas du manque d'eau problématique dans le futur, alors qu'ils le font pour le nucléaire
à vérifier mais il me semble qu'on est déjà au max des zones possibles pour de la retenue d'eau
Concernant le stockage par batteries, c'est compliqué sur une mise à l'échelle de cette ampleur (ressources limitées, traitement des déchets, très coûteux...)
Concernant le stockage par hydrogène, c'est prometteur. Les rendements sont par contre extrêmement mauvais, ce qui plombe le prix du kWh - et tout leur argumentaire s'appuie sur l'argent. Sans compter toute l'infrastructure à inventer et à déployer - et leur argumentaire s'appuie sur la nécessité d'être très rapide.

Y'a un projet semi-sérieux d'inonder la vallée d'Abondance (Chatel...) et d'utiliser le Lac Léman comme réservoir inférieur pour faire une STEP (Pompage-Turbinage).
Sinon j'ai entendu parler que que Grand-Maison (l'eau d'ole à Vaujany) allait être agrandi (?) mais je sais pas si c'est vrai et j'ai aps creusé.
On m'a dit aussi (de source + sérieuse) qu'on pourrait rénover les turbines du Cheylas (en isère ou Savoie).
La propagande antinucléaires est forte en ce moment dit donc.
Ce qui m'énerve, c'est l'hypocrisie des écolos sur la question : "on est pas contre le nucléaire, mais il ne faut surtout surtout pas investir le moindre euro dedans".
En attendant on est pas capable de faire un parc renouvelable sans énergie fossile. Mais les écolos se fichent du co2 finalement, leur ennemi c'est le nucléaire.
J'aurais jamais cru que les écolos se battraient si ardament contre la transition zéro co2.
Si on parle pour la France, dans les scénarios de RTE 2050 grosso modo le mix comprend une grosse part de renouvelable et soit des centrales thermiques soient des centrales nucléaires.
A mon avis il vaut mieux pour le climat mettre des centrales nucléaires que du thermique si on ne veut pas faire une Allemagne bis.
